At first I thought about whether I should really take the train or go by car. I then decided in favour of the connection because I didn't have to change trains. The view was beautiful, especially through the low mountain range, which I liked. Unfortunately, it was quite noisy in the compartment, a group was talking loudly on the phone. Wifi was hardly usable, the toilet was not particularly clean. At least the service was friendly. Next time I'll think again, but not a bad journey!

The ticket for my journey to Dortmund was very expensive. I could probably have travelled cheaper with the Deutschlandticket, but then I wouldn't have got there as quickly as with this connection. I also liked the fact that the train wasn't so full. The wifi worked very well.

The train from Munich to Dortmund was sometimes very full. Nevertheless, the atmosphere on the train was calm. The seats were comfortable and there were plenty of power sockets and a stable internet connection. The aisles and seats were clean and the toilets were hygienic. The staff were friendly and the on-board restaurant was open. I didn't have to change trains and the journey time was relatively short for this route. Unfortunately, I found the ticket price overpriced. Otherwise, I can recommend this journey.

The train journey itself was pleasant. The train was clean, relatively quiet and arrived at its destination on time. The staff were friendly and the seats were comfortable enough. The wifi and air conditioning also worked reliably. What bothered me, however, was the price. The ticket was simply too expensive for a connection without a change and without any particular comfort. With this price-performance ratio, I'm considering taking the car again next time.

A few months ago, I took a train journey from Munich to Dortmund with Deutsche Bahn. The staff were very friendly and always smiling. Hygiene was very well taken care of. The toilets were very clean and well maintained. The price was very well justified for the ticket and in my opinion quite reasonable. Unfortunately, there were many changes of trains, which made the journey difficult. The noise on the train was very loud. Also, the train did not arrive in Dortmund on time. Overall, a good journey.

From Munich to Dortmund, no change had been necessary. It was a very relaxed journey as there was no high occupancy. It was very quiet on the train. The comfortable seats and full equipment made it very comfortable. The toilets were clean and so was the passenger compartment. The staff was friendly and the check was carried out quickly. However, I was bothered by the 25-minute delay here, as I still had an appointment. Otherwise, a very relaxed journey.
Advantages

Disadvantages

The journey was very quiet, firstly because the passengers were quiet and secondly because the train is also very quiet. There is functioning wifi and charging facilities. The seats are comfortable and you can sit in them without immediately getting back pain. The sanitary facilities were clean and full. The staff were friendly and helpful. At first, the price seemed exorbitant, but after thinking about it for a while, I came to the conclusion that it was quite fair.

Travelling by train offered some positive aspects, such as excellent wifi, extremely comfortable seats and a pleasant volume on the train. The reservation options were well structured and made it easier to plan the journey. However, there were also some negative points to note. The staff were unfriendly, which detracted from the overall experience. The train did not arrive on time, which caused some inconvenience. I personally found the fare expensive and not enough attention was paid to cleanliness, especially in the toilets. Overall, the comfort factors such as wifi and seats were brilliant, but the unpunctuality, high fare and laxity in cleanliness marred the overall picture. Overall a satisfying journey!

However, cash is still widely accepted and sometimes preferred in smaller shops, markets, and rural areas. Carrying some cash is recommended for flexibility.
In Dortmund, travelers should be cautious of pickpocketing, especially in crowded areas like train stations and popular tourist spots. Common scams include fake charity collectors and individuals offering unsolicited help with ticket machines or currency exchange, which can lead to overcharging. Staying alert in busy areas and using official services helps ensure a safe visit.
Pack lightweight, versatile clothing suitable for the destination's climate, and use secure, lockable luggage to protect belongings. Keep essential items like travel documents, medication, and valuables in a carry-on bag for easy access. Use packing organizers or cubes to maximize space and maintain order. Lastly, include a small first aid kit and personal hygiene items for added comfort during travel.
