The reason for my journey was to visit my old friends. In order to have as much time as possible in Hamburg, I decided to book the earliest train. The train left on time at 04:13 and after only 5 hours and 40 minutes I was already in Hamburg for just €13.40. I slept most of the way. I slept most of the way, so I can say the journey was very comfortable and cosy. The train was definitely the cheapest and fastest choice. The toilets were actually very clean. I never use the Wi-Fi on train journeys as it usually doesn't work or works poorly. On the other hand, I charge my mobile phone every train journey and it works perfectly. I didn't have a service on the train, but I wouldn't know what for. I personally don't use the on-board bistro as it's too expensive for me, but it's definitely useful for anyone who feels suddenly hungry or thirsty.

I recently travelled from Munich to Hamburg by train, second class, and I have to say it was really quite pleasant. To be honest, I wasn't expecting so much, but the seats were comfortable and there was enough space, so you could sit really well, even for a long time. The staff were super nice, totally relaxed and also helped directly with questions or anything else. Overall, the train was clean, including the toilets - that's not always a given. There were also power sockets at the seats, which was super handy because my mobile phone was almost empty anyway. Wifi worked surprisingly well, I was even able to do a bit of work and play around with my wifi in between. There was also food and drink on the train, I just grabbed a coffee and a small snack, which was fine. The route was really scenic, really idyllic in places, which somehow made the journey more pleasant. And best of all, the train was on time and everything ran smoothly. All in all, it was a really relaxed journey and I would do it again.

I travelled to Hamburg from Munich on the ICE 588 last June. The journey was slower than usual but quiet, the service was pleasant. I found the view very pleasant and relaxing. I didn't use the on-board bistro on this journey and used my time to sleep.

Overall, the journey in second class was comfortable and stress-free, and I would definitely use this connection again.

We were planning a long weekend in Hamburg with a visit to the Elbphilharmonie concert hall. For environmental reasons, we deliberately decided in favour of the train instead of the plane. We therefore chose 1st class tickets. We left quite early at 6:12, but arrived in Hamburg almost punctually at 12:03 with a delay of just 5 minutes. The compartment and the toilets were quite clean until we arrived in Hamburg, and the staff were extremely friendly. It was a good decision and I can recommend the train journey without reservation.

I recently made the train journey from Munich to Hamburg and would like to share my experience. Overall, the journey was pleasant and comfortable. The train was on time, which I really appreciated as it made the start of the journey stress-free. The seats were comfortable and there was enough space to relax even on longer journeys. The on-board staff were friendly and helpful, which made the journey even more pleasant. The carriages were clean during the journey and the toilets were well maintained. The wifi worked well, which was important for me to be able to work or stream a bit during the journey. Of course, a train journey from Munich to Hamburg is quite long, but the scenery you see on the way is beautiful and varied. There is also the opportunity to move around in between, which makes the journey more enjoyable. All in all, I would definitely do the train journey from Munich to Hamburg again. It's a comfortable, environmentally friendly alternative to flying or driving, and the on-board amenities make the long journey bearable.

I travelled overnight and arrived in Hamburg at around 7am without any delays. The train was relatively full, but I got a good seat despite not having a seat reservation. Everything was very clean and the train staff were very friendly. The only "negative" point was that the lights were not dimmed overnight and it was a bit chilly (bearable with a jacket).

I travelled from Munich to Hamburg at lunchtime to visit friends. The connection was okay, but with changes - not the most comfortable option. What I liked best was the view en route, least of all the crowded compartment. The train was reasonably clean, including the toilet. Wifi worked poorly. The train was slightly late. The service was friendly, but not very present. I paid 49.90 euros for the ticket. Overall, the journey was okay, but not perfect.

I didn't have any negative experiences on the journey. Everything was kept very clean, I had good wifi and a very comfortable seat, with more than enough legroom. Both stations were excellently organised and I had no problems at all. The booking also went smoothly and I had the impression that great attention was paid to comfort. I give it a recommendation.

IconPrice
The journey by ICE from Munich to Hamburg was satisfactory overall. The train offers a comfortable and modern travel experience, with high speed and a smooth ride. The seat was comfortable and there was enough legroom, which is important for a longer journey. The on-board amenities, such as the catering facilities and toilets, were also of a high standard. However, a minor drawback was the high price of the ride. Compared to other modes of transport, it can be too expensive for some people, especially considering that some airlines offer similar routes for a cheaper price. Overall, taking the ICE from Munich to Hamburg was a pleasant experience, but the price might be a barrier for some travellers. Nevertheless, it is a good choice for someone who values comfort and convenience and is willing to pay a higher price.

IconBooks to borrow
The seats were very comfortable and it was very quiet on the train. The wifi was very good and I had access to electricity at my seat. The staff were very nice and there were many things to order. The train arrived on time and it was very clean on the train, the toilets were also clean. I can pass it on as my ticket was not expensive but worth it.
Advantages
Iconthe heaters were on
This was a trip that was 2nd class and I liked it a lot because there was nothing negative. There was healthy food, which was also cheap. The heaters were on. If you had extra requests, you could book it in the app and your request was also fulfilled, for example, regarding food. The train looked very nice from the outside and inside. This train trip definitely deserves praise as it was so cheap and I liked it very much. The wifi was very good and for all the positive reasons, I can only recommend the trip.
Advantages

It was a very long ride, but it didn't feel that long. My seat was clean and I had enough space at my seat. The people were very nice and so were the staff. The air on the train was very clean and it was very quiet on the train. My wifi was good. The toilets were very clean and the air was pure there. The train was on time and everyone was doing their own thing. It was relatively OK. I thought the services were great too. I definitely recommend the trip. What was also very cool is that there was free water. A very great ride.
Advantages

Disadvantages
IconTrain was too late
It was a great trip, and before that I made a small stopover from Gernlinden and I can really recommend it, because the food was super tasty and the staff were friendly. The atmosphere was also great and my wifi was great. It was relatively cheap, so I can also recommend it. The toilets were also very clean and I felt comfortable using them.
Advantages
IconThe train was on time
Disadvantages
IconHygiene
The journey was generally very good. There was excellent wifi reception and 2 power sockets in each compartment. One negative point, however, is the lack of hygiene, the seats and the floor were not really clean. However, as this was the only bad point, I still recommend the trip.
Advantages
IconThe train was on time
Disadvantages
IconThe product has no weaknesses
The journey was very pleasant. The entire compartment was freshly cleaned, quiet and the wifi reception was excellent. Another positive point I noticed was that the train left on time and arrived only 1 minute late. I can therefore recommend the journey by train from Munich to Hamburg.
Advantages
IconCosy
Disadvantages
IconLate
IconSlow wifi
IconExpensive
I travelled from Munich to Hamburg yesterday and I have to say that there are positive as well as negative aspects. The seats on the train were very comfortable. The wifi was very slow. The train was delayed by 5 minutes on arrival. The price for such a train journey is far too expensive. The toilets are also not very clean. You have to change trains twice.
Advantages
IconSustainable
IconWorking on the train possible
Disadvantages
IconMore expensive than a flight
I travel the route Munich to Hamburg back to Munich. It's a bit of a shame that it's sometimes cheaper to fly than to buy a train ticket. However, what I like is that the journey is very sustainable by train. And you can work great. I always book myself second class or a seat in a compartment. Cleanliness is almost always great and you have wifi access. It's enough for work.
Advantages
IconGood price
Disadvantages
IconTrain full
As we were on holiday in Munich, we needed a ticket from Munich to Hamburg. The journey was very pleasant for the most part, but the train was a bit crowded. What was very pleasant was the good low price of the ticket we were able to get as we had booked early. The train was mostly clean, except for a few spots under the seats and the toilet was also cleaned. I can recommend the trip.
Advantages
IconThe cleanliness
IconThe equipment
IconThe seating comfort
Disadvantages
IconThe long journey time
IconThe toilets were neglected in terms of cleanliness
IconThe fare or the price-performance ratio
Unfortunately, my train journey from Munich to Hamburg was not very pleasant. One positive point was undoubtedly the cleanliness of the train, which was definitely commendable. The seating comfort and the general furnishings of the train were also okay and made the journey a little more bearable. However, I must emphasise that these positive aspects were overshadowed by some significant shortcomings. The equipment, although acceptable, showed signs of wear and tear, indicating that maintenance had been neglected. This spoilt the overall picture considerably. Seating comfort, although good in itself, was affected by the excessively long journey time. The journey time from Munich to Hamburg was disproportionately long, which is particularly unpleasant for travellers on a tight schedule. The inconvenience of such a long journey was not compensated for by the service provided. The service on board was disappointing and the staff were not very attentive or helpful. The cleanliness, which initially stood out positively, could not compensate for the average or lower standards of the toilets. Overall, these appeared neglected and not sufficiently cleaned. One particularly disappointing aspect was the price-performance ratio. The fare was disproportionate to the services offered and the quality of the journey. In view of this overall situation, I would not recommend this train connection from Munich to Hamburg. Improvements in journey time, service and maintenance would be urgently needed to make the journey more appealing for me and other passengers. On the other hand, I will no longer be able to travel long distances by train.
Advantages
IconClean
Disadvantages
IconNone
I really enjoyed the train journey. The staff were very friendly and the wifi was excellent. The sanitary facilities and the compartment were thoroughly cleaned and the hygiene was excellent. I personally think that the price-performance ratio of the journey is optimal. There was a calm atmosphere on the train and it was very quiet throughout the journey. Recommendation!
Advantages
IconComfortable
Disadvantages
IconNone
Instead of long car journeys or short-haul flights, I always prefer to take the train, as it's cheaper and also less stressful if the train is on time, as you save yourself either traffic jams or stress at the airport. Everything else is also great, the train is clean, the wifi works and the staff are very nice. Of course, you also have more legroom on a train journey than on a plane. Always happy to travel again!
Advantages
IconComfortable seating, sufficient space to the front seat, panoramic window
IconRide is quiet and pleasant
IconPossibility to make a reservation in a quiet compartment
Disadvantages
IconPoor selection in the on-board restaurant
IconOn-board announcements were barely understandable
The train journey was relaxed and I was pleasantly surprised by the legroom in the front seat. As I usually only travel by plane, I was also delighted with the option of reserving a seat in the quiet compartment. On the negative side, I have to rate the selection of the on-board restaurant and the announcements made by the train staff were unfortunately very difficult to understand. Otherwise it was a very pleasant journey!
Advantages
IconComfortable
Disadvantages
IconNone
I travelled to Hamburg with a friend some time ago. The journey was very comfortable, with fresh air and a reasonable temperature. The sanitary facilities were very clean and hygienic. The staff was super friendly. I think the price was definitely worth it. The atmosphere was very quiet and it was generally very relaxing. I recommend the train connection.
Advantages
IconFast journey with the ICE
IconAir conditioning and sockets were fine
IconToilets were very clean
Disadvantages
IconYou must reserve a seat in order to be able to sit for a longer period of time
The train with the train number ICE 588 departed on time. The seats were comfortable and clean. The toilets were also very clean. The wifi was fast enough. If you want to sit in the same seat permanently, you have to make a reservation. Otherwise, the person who reserved your seat can ask you to vacate the seat.
Advantages
IconBeautiful view
IconThere was wifi
Disadvantages
IconDelay
IconTrouble with passengers
More than a year ago, I travelled to Hamburg via ICE. It was a cheap alternative to travelling by car. I have travelled a lot by ICE myself in recent years and I have to say that the journey was very pleasant. There was a wonderful view and the passengers were mostly quiet. Unfortunately, there was an altercation, but it was resolved. And, as always, there was a delay.
Advantages
IconGet a seat without any problems
Disadvantages
IconIt stank at the first seat
The wifi worked okay and I had no problems finding a seat. However, the first seat was very smelly, so I had to look for a new one. I was able to do the comfort check-in via the app. There was a power socket at my seat. We were slightly late, but nothing serious. Overall, I am satisfied with the train journey.

Disadvantages
IconSanitary facilities
I travelled by ICE from Munich to Hamburg. I often travel by train on business, as connections by plane are too expensive for me. The train arrived on time and made a clean and tidy impression on me. The on-board bistro had a wide selection of meals and drinks, but they were a little overpriced. The train had no delays during the journey and travelled pleasantly quietly. Unfortunately, the toilets were not very clean. Nevertheless, it was a positive experience for me.

I found the seats very comfortable and the volume was also pleasant and nothing was too loud. The service staff were very friendly and helped me with any questions I had. The toilets were well cleaned and didn't smell. The train had a few delays, which meant that my transfer time was very short. The price of the ticket is very easy to understand when you see what you get.

Fast and inexpensive connection from Munich Central Station to Hamburg Central Station. There were no delays. The journey was pleasant and quiet. The sanitary facilities were not cleaned satisfactorily. I had to save myself a trip to the toilet.

Disadvantages
IconPunctuality
My train journey from Munich to Hamburg was quite good. Firstly, I was impressed by the cleanliness of the train. The seats were spotless, the windows clear and the toilet facilities surprisingly hygienic. Unfortunately, punctuality was a weak point on this journey. The train was already 20 minutes late on departure and this was not made up. Despite the delay, the journey was quite a positive experience

Disadvantages
IconSpeed of the train
Unfortunately, our train had a problem with the engine or something similar on this journey, which is why we only travelled at the speed of a regional train from about halfway along the route. Fittingly, this happened during the holidays and the train was already full to the end anyway. The service was more or less poor, but there is nothing negative to say about it

I was quite happy with the journey, as the train was delayed, but only by five minutes and there were no other problems on the journey. What I also have to say is that I didn't have to change trains once. My seat was actually quite comfortable, but after such a long journey, my back does ache at some point. What I did miss was functioning wifi. All in all, a pretty good journey
