Very pleasant for an international journey! The train was on time and the service was excellent. There were charging facilities, but unfortunately the wifi didn't work. In addition, the seats were unfortunately quite uncomfortable, which wasn't great on this long journey. However, the toilets were very clean and the staff were very friendly. The price-performance ratio was also very good in my eyes.

The train journey from Amsterdam to Paris was a good experience overall. The price of the journey was reasonable and the trains were mostly on time, which made planning easier. In terms of hygiene, standards were acceptable and cleanliness on the train was maintained. However, the wifi connection was disappointing, often unreliable and slow, which could be frustrating for travellers who rely on a stable internet connection. The staff on board the train also left a lot to be desired, as service was below average and customer needs were not always satisfactorily met. They were not responsive to the interests and concerns of your guests. In addition, the level of comfort during the journey was not particularly high. Overall, the train journey from Amsterdam to Paris offers a great experience!

The journey from Amsterdam to Paris a few months ago with Deutsche Bahn was excellent. Firstly, the price is worth mentioning as it was fair and good value. The staff was very friendly, polite, nice and respectful to your guests. They always tried to deal with and clarify your guests' concerns with the greatest interest. In addition, the train arrived in Paris on time and hygiene standards were extremely well taken care of, as the toilets were well maintained. However, the seats were not very comfortable and the noise level was annoying. The wifi was also not very powerful or efficient. But I loved the trip and would recommend it to others!

A few months ago, I travelled back from Amsterdam to Paris on the Deutsche Bahn. Good attention was paid to hygiene. The toilets and seats were clean and tidy. They also smelled pleasant. The seats were also incredibly comfortable. This allowed me to rest and relax during the journey. The wifi connection was stable and efficient. I therefore had access to the internet at all times. The volume on the train was reasonable. However, I felt the price was a little too expensive. The staff were not particularly friendly. They had a relatively ignorant behaviour. Unfortunately, the train didn't arrive in Paris on time either. This made planning difficult. But overall a good trip!

My journey from Amsterdam to Paris was good. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I always felt that I was in good hands. The wifi connection was stable and efficient. I had access to the internet at all times and was able to work on my laptop or by hand, for example. Good attention was paid to hygiene, as the toilets and seats were comfortable and well maintained. However, in my opinion, the price was a little too expensive and not necessarily worth it for the journey. In addition, the train did not arrive in Paris on time, which made it difficult to plan later. I found the booking options confusing and complicated. But all in all a good journey, while aspects such as punctuality or price are extremely important to us.

Amsterdam to Paris with Eurostar: Three Countries in 3 Hours and 30 Minutes

Introduction

Taking the Eurostar train from Amsterdam to Paris is one of Europe’s greatest journeys. In just 3.5 hours, you travel through three countries, experience three different cultures, and connect three iconic capitals—all aboard a single high-speed train. Hop on board with me as I ride the Eurostar!

Route Overview

Eurostar is currently the only operator running direct trains between Amsterdam and Paris. While a few competitors have expressed interest in launching similar services, it remains your only choice for the foreseeable future.

A view of the ornate facade of Paris Gare du Nord station.

If you’re feeling adventurous (and patient), you could take a slower option: a direct intercity train from Amsterdam to Brussels, followed by Ouigo’s train service to Paris. It might be cheaper, but it will take almost twice as long!

Transportation Experience

Since Eurostar is the sole operator of this extremely popular route, the prices can be high, and trains often sell out days in advance. My advice? Book as early as possible.

I booked my ticket through Omio, which gave me a clear overview of prices and available options. As always, the booking process was smooth and reliable.

Route Details

Departure & Arrival Stations

Amsterdam Centraal is fantastic. Perfectly located for tourists, nearly every interesting spot in the city is within walking distance. When heading toward France, I recommend sitting on the left-hand side of the train to catch a view of Amsterdam’s canals as you depart.

The interior of a Eurostar Standard class carriage.

Paris Gare du Nord will always hold a special place in my heart. I grew up in northern France, so it was the starting point for many holidays and the gateway home. I spent countless hours watching trains arrive and depart to all corners of the country and beyond.

An Eurostar train at the platform of Paris Gare du Nord station.

Tip: Make sure you step outside the station and cross Rue de Dunkerque to admire views of its monumental façade. And just across the street, you can grab amazing croissants at Carton Paris!

Schedule & Frequency

Eurostar trains depart Amsterdam approximately every hour, usually at XX:10. The journey takes three and a half hours, which is impressively fast for crossing three countries. Trains run daily.

Onboard Experience & Services

Eurostar offers three travel classes:

  • Standard – Comfortable and affordable, equivalent to second class.
  • Standard Premier – More spacious seating with a light meal included.
  • Business Premier – Luxurious service with meals, champagne, and fast-track boarding.

I traveled in Business Premier, and it was fantastic despite the higher price. There’s a café mid-train, but I didn’t need it since my meal was delivered right to my seat.

The interior of the Eurostar cafe-bar

The steward welcomed me with a menu, and I had several options to choose from, including alcoholic drinks. I went with a delicious Belgian beer—sipping it at 300 km/h while still in Belgium was a highlight!

A photograph of Eurostar Business Premier class.

Eurostar’s catering is great. Expect cold dishes, but they’re fresh and genuinely tasty.

Scenery

The Dutch countryside was my favorite: cruising through the lowlands, crossing rivers, and spotting classic windmills in the background was a real treat. I also loved gliding right through the heart of Brussels, the capital of Europe!

Ticketing Advice & Budget Breakdown

Golden rule: Book early.

I paid 189€ for this trip, which I think is fair, especially when booked two months in advance.
