Trains to Rome

Trains in Italy are a convenient way to travel, with a number of companies offering domestic and international train routes. Rome’s main railway station is Rome Termini where all national, regional and international trains to Rome terminate. The second most important railway station is Rome Tiburtina, where many national trains also stop. Passengers from both northern and southern Italy come into either Tiburtina or Termini station, including those using the high speed rail link from Milan, Turin and Venice in the north to Naples and Salerno in the south. Major Italian train lines that service Rome include InterCity and Eurostar Italy. Rome Termini is located in the heart of Rome in the main hotel district and is integrated into the city’s metro network as well as being opposite the main bus station, Piazza dei Cinquecento. Those wishing to continue their journey via tram will need to take a short walk to Port Maggiore, the city’s main tram station, located 1.5 km from Termini. Rome Tiburtina is found to the east of the city and is also on the Metro network.
