Travelmar operates between six destinations including Salerno and Amalfi. Each ferry route offers a scenic view of the coastline on boats that are designed with sightseeing in mind. The ferries reach speeds of 18 knots and carry between 165 and 348 passengers.

Taking a ferry ride can be an exciting way to savor the alluring scenery. There are three ferry companies on this route: NLG takes around one hour to make the crossing, Alilauro takes 35 minutes, and the Seremar ferry takes around 1 hour and 25 minutes. Although there are regular crossings on the route, high-speed ferries are often suspended due to rough seas. In case of very rough seas, the ferry routes are closed. Lucibello ferries also offer services on this route but the high-speed ferries are only available during certain months.
The Sorrento–Positano route changes often, so it would be prudent to double check a few days before the travel date. The route is currently run by three major companies. Alilauro has three crossings per day, NLG run up to 14 times a week, and the Seremar service runs seven times per week. Ferries to Positano depart from the Sorrento port: Marina Piccola. This port is often closed due to rough seas not allowing the tenders to run. Tenders on this route dock at Marina Piccola, which is the port for all the public hydrofoils and ferries. In the middle of the port is a ticket office for all the service companies operating in and out of the port. One can easily reach Marina Piccola via bus or rental scooter.
