The train was sparkling clean and the coffee from the on-board bistro sweetened the trip even more. Unfortunately, there was no wifi on board. This could be improved. Train was on time in Mannheim, which is an achievement, as I noticed, as there are often delays.
However, the ICE trains are generally to be recommended. They are very modern, have great comfort and wifi and power sockets are standard.
I recommend such journeys more in the off-season, however, as everything is always packed during the summer, especially with the €9 and €49 tickets, so many people don't even save on the express train fares or use them without a ticket.

These could have been cleaner. Otherwise, the service was good and the staff friendly. There were no delays for the entire duration of the journey.

The on-board catering was limited and the quality was not outstanding. Wifi connection was unstable and slow. The train staff were polite.

Board bistro was closedFrom Cologne to Mannheim, no change had been necessary and it had been a normal volume and a normal occupancy of the train. The service was not good in my opinion, as the on-board bistro had closed. However, the staff had been polite. The seats on the train were very comfortable and there was plenty of legroom when sitting down. There were also power sockets and an internet connection. The train was clean and the toilets smelled very good.
It was also good that the train was not delayed.

The train arrived on time and was very clean, both in terms of the seats and aisles as well as the toilets. Understandable, but still annoying, is the somewhat unstable internet connection via wifi on this high-speed route. There is also a one-star deduction for the, in my opinion, somewhat high price.
