The train ride with the ICE 512 from Munich to Mannheim was quite pleasant. The train was on time and well occupied, but not overcrowded. The seats were comfortable and spacious and there was enough room for luggage. The wifi worked perfectly and the staff were friendly. I can definitely recommend the ICE on this route.

I booked this trip via the DB Next site, which I think is clearer and more modern. Buying the train ticket was easy and reserving a seat afterwards was also possible. On this journey I had a seat in the 1st class rest area, which was hardly occupied and accordingly very, very quiet. The seats have 1 power socket for each seat and slightly more comfortable seats than those in 2nd class. The train left on time and arrived on time. The price-performance ratio was fine, with a journey time of a little less than 2h.
