The route from Koblenz to Mannheim on Deutsche Bahn's Euro City runs past the Loreley through the Rhine Valley. This is one of the most beautiful routes in Germany. Although the Eurocity trains are somewhat older, they also provide a vintage charm on this route. The seats are much larger and softer than in the current ICE trains. In terms of price, the route is very, very attractive. The journey only takes around 1 hour and 30 minutes. Unfortunately, there is very little wifi or mobile data network on this route. The route is therefore not suitable for productive work.

IconPunctuality
It's really annoying how often Deutsche Bahn trains are late. This time I waited twenty minutes for my train until I found out that it had been cancelled and a replacement train was running instead. The replacement train was reasonably well equipped, but there was no wifi. At least the staff were friendly and apologised several times for the inconvenience.

The journey went well. The train was on time. Unfortunately, the toilets were not ideally cleaned. The sockets worked perfectly, as did the wifi. Overall very satisfactory. The staff were also very friendly and I can only recommend them. The ticket check went smoothly. Apart from the noise level in the quiet compartments, everything went very well. Overall, a very good price-performance ratio.
