Introduction
Boston and New York are two of my favorite cities. There’s only one way to make this trip: by train. Thanks to Amtrak, you can travel this route in under four hours. For fares as low as $72 (€61) in Business Class, you’ll have access to great comfort and even better views. In this article, I’ll take you through the whole experience and show you why the train is the way to go!
Route Overview
The Acela from Boston to New York travels through the USA's New England region, through cities like Providence and New Haven, before arriving in the Big Apple. The total journey covers 231 miles (370 kilometers) in just over 3.5 hours. Alternatively, the Amtrak Northeast Regional runs the same route in slightly more time but with lower prices.

Transportation Experience
Both Boston and New York’s train stations are located right in the heart of their respective cities. In Boston, simply wait for your train’s departure to be announced, and then it’s just a short walk to the covered platforms.
The Acela is designed to make the ride smooth and comfortable. Thanks to the free Wi-Fi that remained fairly reliable through the journey and great views, my trip flew by. You’ll see the Connecticut coastline from the left. Soon, we arrived at New York Penn Station, right by the Empire State Building and Times Square.
