Travel to Malaga
When travelling to Malaga it is best to purchase a flight arriving at Malaga Costa Del Sol Airport. The city center is only 10 km from the airport and can be reached by bus, taxi or train. The bus costs about 2€ and takes 25 minutes, while the train and taxi both take about 15 minutes to get downtown and cost around 3.35€ and 20€ respectively. Malaga can also be reached by high speed train arriving at Málaga-María Zambrano Railway Station.
Traveling around Malaga
The city of Malaga has two local train lines or “cercanias” and two new metro lines connecting downtown with the suburbs, however, the public bus system is the main mode of transport within the city and the most efficient way for tourists to explore. While rental cars are available for those who wish to travel further afield, Malaga is a great city for cyclists. Renting a bicycle or bringing your own is an excellent way to get around quickly while still enjoying the city's vibrant street life. Many bicycle hire companies also offer tours of the city.
