Marbella to Málaga bus with Avanza

Transportation experience

For my trip, I took an Avanza coach, which is line 602, and this runs from Marbella to Malaga Airport. There are other routes that these buses take, such as the 603 and the 607, which follow similar routes along the coast.

I boarded the bus at the Estación de Autobuses de Marbella just prior to 21:00. The station is not too big and is quite easy to get around.

Once the bus left Marbella, it was simply a case of following the coastal highway towards Malaga. The trip was quite straightforward and took about an hour.

There are buses operating between Marbella and Málaga throughout the day, with multiple services departing from each destination.

Some of the buses will stop in Málaga city, whereas others will go directly to Málaga airport, and it is essential to consider the destination when purchasing the tickets.

Onboard experience & services

The type of bus used for this route is a normal bus used for traveling from one place to another within a country or region, with comfortable seating arrangements and space for luggage at the bottom of the bus.

Since this is a short route, everyone just sits on the bus staring at their phones or talking softly or looking at the lights from all the cities along Costa del Sol through the windows.

Though I normally prefer taking a train because I can be productive while enjoying the scenery at the same time, this route was short enough for me so that taking a bus was comfortable for me.

The cost of the tickets for this route is relatively low for the distance involved. The cost of my ticket to take the bus was approximately 10 Euro. • Make sure the bus goes directly to the airport or the city of Málaga.
• Arrive at the Marbella bus station 10 to 15 minutes before the scheduled time of departure.
• Evening buses can be less busy than daytime buses.
• Don’t forget to take a bottle of water if you’re traveling during the summer months because the heat in the Costa del Sol can be extremely high.
• If your destination is Málaga Airport, it may be best to book a direct service from the airport.

Conclusion

One of the easiest ways to get from Marbella to Málaga when you’re on the Costa del Sol is by taking the bus. The trip is short, and the departures are frequent, with some services going directly to the airport.

For my trip, leaving Marbella at about 21:00 and arriving an hour later has made the trip quite easy and inexpensive, especially since the ticket costs about €10.
