Unfortunately I didn't get a seat, but I hadn't booked a seat reservation and the journey only takes 15 minutes, so a seat is not absolutely necessary.

Unfortunately, however, the train was already 20 minutes late when it arrived in Cologne main station. Nevertheless, the train connection between Cologne and Bonn has an absolute time advantage over the car, as the car takes considerably longer than 20 minutes to cover the same distance during rush hour. Without the delay, I would have given the train connection five stars.
