Last week I travelled from Cologne to Bonn on business with the ICE 155 and can absolutely recommend this route by train because of the time advantage compared to driving. Unfortunately I didn't get a seat, but I hadn't booked a seat reservation and the journey only takes 15 minutes, so a seat is not absolutely necessary.
Advantages

Disadvantages
IconNone
On 30 June, I travelled with the ICE 155 from Cologne main station to Bonn main station. The ICE was hardly full, so I found various free seats without a seat reservation. However, as the journey only takes 15-20 minutes, a seat reservation is not absolutely necessary. As the train was very comfortable to get from Cologne to Bonn, I would always recommend the trip.

Yesterday I travelled with the ICE 155 from Cologne main station to Bonn main station. Basically, the journey was very pleasant and comfortable. Unfortunately, however, the train was already 20 minutes late when it arrived in Cologne main station. Nevertheless, the train connection between Cologne and Bonn has an absolute time advantage over the car, as the car takes considerably longer than 20 minutes to cover the same distance during rush hour. Without the delay, I would have given the train connection five stars.

Very happy with the ride. It was a bit loud, but not too loud. The price-performance ratio fits very well. The toilets were clean. And the seats comfortable. The staff was very friendly and dug in to all requests. I can only recommend it.

I really enjoy using the Deutsche Bahn service to travel to other cities for shopping. A big advantage is that you don't have to search for a parking space. Thanks to the new Deutschland. Ticket, you can now travel all over Germany on the trains without any problems. As a result, I use this offer more often. The train connection is great and you get there quickly. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the trains leaves something to be desired. In addition, the trains are often late, even if it is sometimes only a few minutes. If you want to catch a connecting train, this often leads to problems.

I recently took the ICE from Cologne to Bonn. The journey itself was very pleasant! The seats were very comfortable and the atmosphere on the train was good. However, the service could have been better... However, the wifi worked and the ICE was very punctual. I can only recommend such a trip. The cleanliness of the entire train was great!

It was a very pleasant journey from Cologne to Bonn, which didn't take as long as I thought it would, there was wifi on board and also a power socket, the seats were very comfortable and clean, unfortunately a bit too noisy on the train so I had to use my headphones. The toilets were really clean, there was disinfectant and soap on board, also plenty of toilet paper. All in all, a very relaxed and pleasant journey, with all the trimmings. The staff were also very friendly, by the way.

I would highly recommend the trip. The train arrived on time in Bonn and also departed from Cologne. Although the journey was not long, the staff provided food and checked tickets. I recently travelled from Cologne to Bonn main station... The train ride was very pleasant. The volume was comfortable, the seats comfortable and also the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The train journey from Cologne to Bonn was mostly positive. The staff were friendly, and the punctuality of the train and the small number of changes contributed to the satisfaction of the journey. The price was felt to be excellent. However, there were some aspects that could be improved. The wifi connection on the train proved to be rather poor and unfortunately not enough attention was paid to hygiene, especially in terms of unclean WCs. The reservation options were also not optimal. Despite these suggestions for improvement, the overall experience remains positive thanks to the friendly staff, punctuality and attractive price.

The train staff were very helpful and friendly. The entire journey by train was quick and without delay. The journey saves a lot of stress when travelling by car. I travelled on ICE 2535, which wasn't necessary for the short journey, but was almost necessary for me because I changed trains in Bonn. The journey took about half an hour and was super fast. I didn't use the wifi, but it definitely worked. As the journey was also so short, I didn't notice anything about the service apart from the ticket inspectors, but I didn't have any negative experiences either.

The train journey from Cologne to Bonn was actually quite relaxed. I bought the train ticket just before boarding. I got on the train and I had enough time to undress, put my bag in the luggage rack and I was even able to lie down briefly, the staff came and checked my train ticket. Everything went well, the price was actually quite reasonable for the train ticket. However, there were two bad things: there was no toilet paper in the toilets and the wifi didn't work. The train was actually relatively punctual, so I would give it a four out of five stars.

Disadvantages

What I really liked about this journey was that the ticket was cheap. I also liked the fact that I didn't have to change trains and could travel through. Another point I liked was the free wifi, which allowed me to watch videos during the journey. Another thing I liked was the cleanliness of the train and the friendly staff. However, it really bothered me that the train was 10 minutes late.

IconCould be cleaner
The journey from Cologne to Bonn Central Station was unspectacular. The train wasn't particularly clean, but it was fine for the short duration of the journey. The service staff didn't really make an appearance. There was also no bistro. It was commendable that the train was on time until arrival. It was a modern train with comfortable seats. At this time of day it was not particularly busy, so I was able to get a seat.
Advantages
IconFast
The train journey was very short, I didn't even sit down. However, many seats were already occupied. The train was relatively clean, the conductor checked me in a very friendly manner as usual. Unfortunately, I couldn't go to the toilet. Wifi was available. The train arrived on time in Cologne and also at the destination station, Bonn Hauptbahnhof. Overall, I am satisfied with the journey.

IconVolume
My journey from Cologne to Bonn was excellent. Travelling on Deutsche Bahn from 2:55pm to 3:20pm in second class, carriage 2, row 5, seat C, provided an overall positive experience. The price of the journey was attractive and affordable, providing a cost-effective travel option. The staff on board were friendly and helpful, providing a pleasant service during the journey. I felt that I was in good hands. Hygiene was well taken care of as the WCS and seats were well maintained, clean and hygienic. However, the train had difficulties keeping to the timetable, which led to delays and affected the journey time. As a result, I did not arrive in Bonn on time. The reservation options were complicated and not very transparent. In addition, the volume was not optimal. Despite these minor inconveniences, the overall experience was positive, mainly due to the attractive price and the friendly staff.
Advantages
IconFast drive
Disadvantages
IconUnfortunately only RE possible
Unfortunately, the only option for travelling from Cologne to Bonn was to take a regional train. That's not a problem, but I like the atmosphere of an ICE train more and it's more relaxing to travel on a quiet train than to feel squeezed in. Accordingly, there was no service, but you can't expect anything else on a 30-minute journey. You get on the train and arrive at your destination within a few stops, which I really like

The train journey was a pleasant experience. The train was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and courteous. The punctuality of the train was pleasantly surprising, which made it much more relaxing. The seats were comfortable and offered enough space. Options such as working during the journey make the train an attractive alternative to the car. I really appreciate the environmental friendliness of the train and can only recommend it as a good alternative way of travelling.

IconMany stops
I travelled on regional train 48 from Cologne main station to Bonn main station. This train is operated by National Express. Unfortunately, I don't like the comfort of the train. The seat spacing is not generous and the open-plan layout makes it difficult to get any peace and quiet. I would prefer a double-decker train to be used. This line is also often delayed and takes a little longer than other connections as it stops more frequently.

Disadvantages
IconMalfunction
I travelled from Cologne to Bonn by train. Everything started really well, the train arrived on time at Cologne Deutz station. Once on the train, it made a clean impression. Unfortunately, when I went to the sanitary facilities, I realised that they were not so clean. Unfortunately, there was a disruption during the journey due to a train travelling ahead. As a result, the journey was delayed by almost 30 minutes, which was annoying for my next appointment. Apart from that, I think the price was totally fair.
