Travelling with PKP Intercity FAQs
The easiest way to purchase your PKP Intercity tickets is directly through Omio. Our platform allows you to compare prices, schedules, and available options from multiple providers, including PKP Intercity, making your booking process simple and convenient.
You can bring easy-to-carry items as hand luggage, provided they fit easily on shelves above the seats, underneath the seats, or in designated spaces. Folded bikes and baby strollers are considered hand luggage. If traveling with a child, you can bring an unfolded stroller on the train at no extra charge. Items exceeding hand luggage size, including standard, monorail, and one-person bikes, or an unfolded baby stroller when traveling without a child, require a separate ticket with a flat-rate fee of PLN 5.10 per item. For full details, including any specific size or weight limitations not covered here, please refer to our Travel Company Policies page.
Yes, small house pets (including dogs) can travel free of charge if they are securely placed in an appropriate transport box (cage, container, or basket) and do not disturb other passengers. If you are traveling with a dog that is not in a transport box, you must purchase a dog travel ticket for a flat-rate fee of PLN 15.20. Such dogs must be kept on a leash and muzzled for the entire journey, and you must have a valid certificate of rabies vaccination. Please note that animals (excluding guide or assistance dogs) are not permitted in restaurant cars, on seats, or on beds/berths in sleeping or couchette cars. Failing to purchase a required ticket before your trip may incur an additional boarding fee of PLN 10 on the train, and non-compliance with transport provisions may result in further charges.
Yes, you can bring your bike on board PKP Intercity trains, but specific conditions apply. A bike ticket is required, which costs a flat rate of PLN 9.10. Bike transport is only permitted on trains that have dedicated bike areas – you can check for the bike icon in the train schedule. For TLK and IC trains, bikes can be placed in second-class sitting cars adapted for bicycle transport or in the first/last vestibule of the first/last coach. For EIC and EIP trains, bikes must be placed in second-class cars specifically adjusted for bicycle transport, in the allocated space, provided there are available spots. Bikes are not allowed in restaurant cars, sleeping cars, or couchettes. It's crucial to purchase your bike ticket before your trip, especially for EIP trains. If purchased on board, a boarding fee of PLN 20 may apply. Failure to notify the inspector about your bike may result in additional fees. For more details on specific bike types or any further requirements, please consult our Travel Company Policies page.
