I boarded at Zurich HB (Hauptbahnhof), which is right in the city center and easy to reach on foot. The station is spacious and efficient, with signs in multiple languages. There are plenty of places to grab snacks, including a grocery store underground. I’d suggest arriving about 30 minutes early to find your platform without feeling rushed. In Paris, the train arrives at Gare de Lyon. It's one of the city’s main stations and well connected to the metro. From there, it was a quick ride to my hotel in the Marais.

There are usually six to seven direct TGV trains per day on the Zurich-Paris route, starting in the early morning and running until early evening. Journey times range from just under 4 hours to 4 hours and 15 minutes, depending on stops and train type. I found the trains to be punctual and well-coordinated on both ends.
I chose to travel in Second Class, and it was honestly more than comfortable. Seats were spacious with a decent recline and individual trays, and there was plenty of legroom. The carriage was clean and quiet, with big windows that made the ride feel peaceful. Wi-Fi was available onboard, and while not lightning fast, it worked well enough to check emails and scroll. There were also power outlets at every seat, which was great for keeping my phone charged. A bar car was located a few coaches down, and I grabbed a sandwich, sparkling water, and a coffee during the ride. Prices were fair, and the quality was decent for train food. If you prefer, you can bring your own snacks, but just be respectful of the space and smells. Luggage-wise, TGV Lyria allows two medium-size suitcases (up to up to 63 linear inches (158 cm) and one personal item, all included in your fare. There’s open luggage storage at the end of the coach and overhead racks for smaller bags. I didn’t have any issues finding space for my carry-on and backpack.
I booked my ticket about two weeks in advance and paid €89 for a second-class seat. Prices can go lower if you book early or travel midweek. You’ll also see flexible and semi-flexible fare options if you’re unsure of your exact travel date. Here’s my
