In January 2026, I travelled by bus from Zurich to Lucerne with Shuttler, which operates along the Zurich–Lucerne–Interlaken route. The journey was better than expected, as seeing Switzerland from the road, especially the mountain and lake scenery along the way, was quite an adventure. Scheduled bus services aren’t available on every route, so I always check the departure point and availability before booking. I’ve also seen BlaBlaCar rideshare options on some routes, but these are different from scheduled bus services.

Lucerne to Interlaken is one route where I’d check the scheduled bus services available for my travel date. If I’m not in a rush, I’m happy to spend a little longer on the road enjoying the scenery.
