No displayMy ICE journey was again very pleasant. I was delighted with the ample legroom, as I was able to sit comfortably and stretch my legs. The wide doors and lack of steps also made boarding the train easy. Another advantage was that the train was quiet, so I could listen to music undisturbed. One disadvantage was that there was no display for the next stops and I sometimes didn't know where we were.

UnpunctualMany failuresExpensiveI travelled from Düsseldorf to Munich to visit my family. I must have travelled this route with Deutsche Bahn about 20 times. Almost every time there are problems of some kind, such as train cancellations, delays, ... actually, travelling by train would be so nice because you don't have to drive yourself and you're doing something good for the environment, but unfortunately it doesn't work smoothly with the train. This time I was lucky and apart from a delay of about 10 minutes, everything went smoothly. The journey started on time at 07:21. The train and the toilets were clean and the seats were comfortable as they could be extended. So it was also great for slightly taller people. Unfortunately, the wifi didn't work, but the board bistro was open, although I didn't buy anything. To summarise, if it always worked like last time, it would be okay for €45. However, disappointingly, you can't rely on Deutsche Bahn, so there's no guarantee that it will always run like this. Personally, I've had much worse journeys with delays of 3 hours in some cases.

Full trainAir conditioning much too coldI travelled from Düsseldorf to Munich on the night train in July (departure 23:40, arrival 6:30). The train was about 20 minutes late. As I was travelling without a seat reservation, it wasn't easy to find a seat at first. After a short search, however, I found a comfortable seat with a relaxed atmosphere.
Unfortunately, it was difficult to sleep: it was quite bright on the train and the air conditioning was set far too cold.
Nevertheless, the price-performance ratio is good - I am satisfied with the route and the overall comfort and would make the journey again.

As I value environmentally friendly travelling, this was the most responsible and actually the cheapest option for me. The journey went surprisingly well, only a few minutes late on the clock, the staff were friendly as usual, only a few passengers were very noisy. Unfortunately, the toilets weren't particularly clean either. But you're used to that too. You toughen up. I set off in the morning and arrived in Munich in the early afternoon. The wifi was okay - but the network wasn't good enough for a stable phone call. The service was good and the price of 76 euros for the return ticket was fine!

The train was late.This was my outward journey in 2nd class. There was one negative thing, and that was that the train was late, but that was the only thing I didn't like. It wasn't that bad, as it was delayed by a few minutes, but there were a lot more good things. What I liked was that it was very hygienic and clean on the train. The seats were disinfected and the floor was very clean. The windows were also very clean. The wifi was also OK. I can pass on the trip as there was only one small thing that I didn't like and that was the delay. Otherwise, it was a great ride.

It's clear that more people generally take trains on Friday nights than usual, but it was so crowded that even the staff had a little trouble with it. Fortunately, the staff didn't get rattled, remained friendly and the train arrived on time.
Luckily, since I had a seat reservation, I didn't have to stand either. The toilets were okay, but could be cleaner. However, this was probably due to the crowded train. For this reason, the internet was not the best either, but you could use it for web browsing, but not for movies. The power sockets work well and I was able to charge my mobile phone for the long journey. It was a bit noisy on the train, but seats are comfortable as always.

The train was empty, quiet, pleasantly air-conditioned and I was able to enjoy the usual facilities and comfort of the ICE. On this journey, the staff were also on good terms with the passengers and were extremely helpful and courteous.
All in all, this journey was once again a very positive and pleasant experience with the ICE and Deutsche Bahn.
I was able to enjoy the journey even without a seat reservation and although the price was not exactly low, it was worth it in retrospect.
