You don't always have to demonise the train, because there are other ways. I travelled from Salzburg to Munich on the EC218 and have to say that the journey was very pleasant despite the full train. I was travelling in 2nd class and was still able to find a seat. The staff were friendly and the cleanliness, especially in the toilets, was impeccable. Power sockets were available and worked. However, there was no wifi at all, which is probably normal on this route. Overall, I was satisfied with the EC218 - despite the high capacity utilisation and no wifi.

Top journey! The train arrived on time, was modern and very clean. I had a seat with a table, even though I hadn't made a reservation. The power socket worked, wifi was stable throughout. The announcements were clear and the staff were very friendly. This makes travelling by train really fun. Gladly again!

Had to travel from Salzburg to Munich for a job interview. The unbeatable price of the Westbahn was the main reason why I booked the Westbahn instead of ÖBB. I really liked the uncomplicated self check-in via the WB app, as you don't even have to talk to the conductor.

The journey was pleasant overall. I had a comfortable seat and the on-board bistro had surprisingly good snacks. Some of the views were really nice, especially in the rural sections. Wifi worked most of the time, except that it was a bit slow and sometimes dropped out. The train was on time, which was a pleasant surprise. The toilet wasn't perfect, but okay. The price was okay when you compare it to the cost of petrol for the car. I can recommend it!

I can recommend it!

The return journey was generally pleasant again, comfortable, quiet and with enough space. The toilets were fine and the wifi even worked a bit better this time. I also always like the view when travelling by train. The service was also friendly. There was a slight delay in punctuality, nothing dramatic, but worth mentioning. Price and performance are still good. Therefore, a clear recommendation from my side.

I really enjoyed my journey on the Railjet 67 from Salzburg to Munich! As soon as I boarded, I noticed the pleasant atmosphere on the train. Everything was clean, modern and very well organised. The seats are comfortable, there's plenty of space for luggage and there's even a power socket at your seat - ideal for charging your mobile phone or laptop on the move. The train staff were very friendly and helped me directly with a question about my connection in Munich. I particularly liked the on-board bistro: the food was delicious and the prices were absolutely fair. I was also pleasantly surprised by the coffee! The journey itself was quiet and the view of the Alps and the passing landscape was simply marvellous. The time flew by and I arrived in Munich relaxed and on time. All in all, it was an all-round successful train journey for me. I can recommend the Railjet 67 to anyone who wants to travel comfortably, quickly and stress-free between Salzburg and Munich.

I made the journey from Salzburg to Munich by Intercity train and the experience was thoroughly positive. Departure was on time and the journey was quiet and without any problems. The IC made 5 stops during the journey, which took about 1.5 hours, and then arrived just as punctually at the destination station in Munich. For this route, I am above all very satisfied with the price-performance ratio.

I have now travelled with Flixbus from Salzburg to Munich for the third time and I am always pleasantly surprised. The bus had no delays or scratches on the sides of the bus. However, the drivers did not speak English or German, which was a bit of a problem when communicating. The toilets were not so very clean and it was also a bit harsh in the rooms. In summary, the trip was less problematic and I was able to enjoy it.

Dear Sir or Madam, First of all, I would like to inform you that I took a train journey with Deutsche Bahn from Salzburg to Munich. The train arrived in Munich on time. Hygiene was extremely observed in toilets and on the train. There was disinfectant and wet wipes. The staff on the train were very friendly and always had a big smile on their faces. Unfortunately, there was a lot of need to change trains. It was also very noisy on the train and the price was quite expensive. Overall, very good though. Recommendable!

The journey was from Salzburg to Munich on IC 1290, in second class. The train was clean and seemed technically up to date. There was an on-board bistro where coffee and snacks were sold. The service was good and the staff friendly. The journey time was very short overall, which I found positive. Despite a slight delay of just under 10 minutes, I found the journey time to be quite short for the route.

Hello everyone! I recently had a train journey with Deutsche Bahn from Salzburg to Munich. First of all, the price was excellent compared to other providers. The wifi connection was very good. The toilets were very clean and smelled very good. In addition, you could find disinfectant everywhere. The seats were not very comfortable and well maintained. The staff was not friendly. There were also several transfers. Overall, however, a satisfactory trip for the money paid.

I decided to take the IC from Salzburg to Munich and I didn't regret it because the journey was very relaxed. The train arrived a few minutes late, which is not so bad in my eyes. The staff was very friendly, the train itself was clean, as was the toilet. Unfortunately, I had difficulties with the wifi.

I travelled with the IC 1290 second class from Salzburg to Munich. The train departed on time and arrived in Munich on time. The seats were very comfortable and ergonomic. The staff on board offered good service. For example, coffee and chocolate were offered. The train itself could have been cleaner. The bins were full and the floor was sticky in places. Unfortunately, there was no wifi on board.

The journey from Salzburg to Munich was on the IC1290. The train arrived in Munich on time. The journey took just over 1.5 hours, which is quite fast for this route. I did not make a reservation, but there were plenty of seats available. The train had wifi.

The journey was from Salzburg to Munich, second class, on IC1290. It was a pleasant stroll, which in my opinion could also be completed more quickly. The train was very clean and well maintained. There was an on-board bistro which sold delicious coffee. The service was good. The train had no delays. I did not make a reservation, but there were plenty of seats.

The journey was from Salzburg to Munich with IC1290. I travelled second class and did not make a reservation. There were still enough seats available so I didn't have to stand, the train facilities were good, I could access the wifi. Run down. On the positive side, the journey was very quick and the train was on time. I can recommend the journey.
Advantages
IconNo delay
IconEasy booking
Disadvantages
IconFull rubbish bins
For me, this train journey was a 5 out of 5 star because the ticket was very easy and cheap to buy online. The train was also not delayed and I was not obliged to change trains. Another great point would be the good wifi. However, I found the rubbish bins were full, but that wasn't a bad thing.
Advantages

Disadvantages

IconToilet stank
The journey took about 2 hours. We arrived at our destination, Salzburg Hauptbahnhof, with a tiny delay. The toilet was very smelly, but relatively clean. The conductor was friendly to me and the hygiene on the train was excellent. I was able to travel through and didn't have to change trains. Power sockets were available and so was wifi. The train was not properly heated for the first 20 minutes and was relatively cold. But everything was bearable.
Advantages

IconClean train
Super great train journey: The toilet was completely clean and didn't smell. The train itself was very well cleaned and it didn't stink either. The seats were very comfortable and there were power sockets. The conductor greeted me in a very friendly manner and had a brief chat with me. It was also very quiet in my compartment, which I always find very pleasant because the noise-cancelling headphones don't make that much noise. I was able to travel through very relaxed and didn't have to change trains.
Advantages

IconUncomfortable seats
Despite the slight delay to the train, I really enjoyed the train journey from Salzburg to Munich because I was able to book the ticket very easily and cheaply. I also thought it was great that I found a ticket that didn't require me to change trains, which meant I arrived at my destination quickly. I was also impressed by the great wifi and the cleanliness of the toilets. However, the seats could be more comfortable.
Advantages

IconCleanliness
My train journeys have all gone quite well recently, including this one, with only a few exceptions. The train wasn't delayed and there were plenty of seats. However, I have to say that it would have been nice if it had been a bit cleaner, as well as the toilets. The staff were friendly and it was quite quiet and relaxed throughout the journey. The train was equipped with charging facilities, but unfortunately did not have working wifi.
Advantages
IconFast drive
Disadvantages
IconService was okay
Unfortunately, I found that the service didn't really show itself. I wasn't actually asked if I wanted anything or if everything was to my satisfaction. The journey itself was relatively quick, so I give the plus point, but I would have been happier if I had been approached
Advantages
IconFast drive
Disadvantages
IconPriced too much for my liking
The journey went really quickly. I'd hardly got on before I was already back at my destination in Munich. The service was nice, but with the short journey time you hardly got to see it and everything else was great. Cleanliness was in top condition and the internet worked perfectly. The food in the on-board bistro also tasted great again, even if it is very steep for the price
Advantages

As part of a group journey with the Sparpreis Group, we travelled on the Meridian M 79024 from Salzburg to Munich. The journey time was just under two hours and was kept to. Unfortunately, there was no possibility of reserving seats for us on the train and we found the space a little cramped, especially compared to the ICE train behind. On the other hand, the scenery around Lake Chiemsee was very beautiful and the time flew by. There were a few toilets, but they were clean. The staff were friendly, as usual.
Advantages

Disadvantages
IconSeat
Unfortunately, when I boarded the train, all the seats were already taken, and as I hadn't reserved any, I had to find somewhere else to sit. In the end, I just sat down on the floor. At least the train was on time and I didn't have to wait, the journey isn't too long either, which made it bearable. The staff were very friendly. Even the toilets were quite clean.

I found this train journey from Salzburg to Munich particularly pleasant. The train was not delayed and the pre-booked seats were free and clean. There was no discomfort during the journey and it was always quiet and the wifi worked well. Only that it sometimes failed.
