I went on holiday to Venice and decided to take the train on the way back as the ticket was a bit cheaper than the plane. My favourite thing about this train journey was the view of the Italian Alps, and the journey over the Brenner Pass was definitely a highlight. A low point was the very patchy internet connection via the on-board wifi, but you usually had a view out of the window that made this forgivable. The journey started at lunchtime and was very comfortable. Both the train and the toilets were still very new and very clean. As mentioned, the train has patchy on-board wifi and several different charging options for mobile phones, including wireless charging. I was lucky that day and the train arrived in Munich on time. The service staff were very friendly. There was an on-board restaurant, but I didn't use it. I paid a total of €166 for my ticket, as it was for 2 people so €83 per person, with one person holding a Bahncard 25. I think this price is absolutely fair considering the route and the fact that this ticket also includes a connecting ICE to Leipzig and was booked at relatively short notice.
Advantages
IconNo delay
IconComfortable seats
IconFriendly service
Disadvantages
IconNothing
The journey was very pleasant. The wifi was stable and sockets were also very good as I could charge my mobile phone during the journey. The seats were very comfortable, the volume was pleasant, reservation facilities were also available. The service was extremely friendly and the toilets were very clean. The train was always very punctual. All in all, everything went really well.
Advantages
IconPleasant driving
IconOn time
Disadvantages
IconNothing
The journey is very pleasant and the seats are very comfortable. There are enough power sockets and the wifi is also good. It was a very smooth ride and the service was very pleasant. Reservation facilities were also available. The toilets are very hygienic. The journey time was fine. The train was very punctual. The price-performance ratio was fine.
Advantages
IconVery clean
IconVery nice and talkative staff
IconComfortable seats
IconReasonable price-performance ratio
Disadvantages
IconJourney a little too long
IconThe equipment was limited
My journey by train from Venice to Munich was a mixed bag. The train was characterised by its cleanliness, and the upkeep of the compartments and sanitary facilities contributed to a pleasant atmosphere. The staff proved to be friendly and helpful, which made the journey pleasant. The seats on the train were extremely comfortable, which was a particular advantage on the longer journey. The price-performance ratio was fair, as the services provided justified the price paid. However, the journey time was a significant disadvantage. The journey from Venice to Munich took longer than expected, which caused some inconvenience. The time spent on the train had a negative impact on the overall experience. Another point of criticism concerned the train's equipment. I would have liked more variety and comfort here. The limited amenities spoilt the comfort of the journey and detracted from the overall experience. In summary, although the train journey from Venice to Munich was characterised by positive aspects such as cleanliness, staff and comfortable seats, these were marred by the long journey time and the limited amenities on the train. I think I would recommend the train journey despite this, as it is simply the most environmentally friendly method.
Advantages
IconBeautiful landscapes
IconThe train was on time
Disadvantages
IconVery poor comfort
IconWeak equipment
IconWeak price-performance ratio
The return journey from Venice to Munich again had its ups and downs. The breathtaking scenery along the route was again very beautiful to see. However, the problem of cleanliness on the train remained and it seemed that this had not improved since the outward journey. Fortunately, the departure and arrival were on time this time, which made the journey smooth. Nevertheless, the price-performance ratio was not fair. The comfort was simply too poor. The journey time was comparable to the outward journey, but the seats seemed even more uncomfortable. Once again, basic amenities such as power sockets or improved upholstery were missing. It felt like you were sitting on stone. The interior of the train was therefore still not convincing. The service on board showed a slight improvement compared to the outward journey. The staff seemed a little more attentive and friendly. Nevertheless, there is still room for improvement to bring the service up to expectations. And my expectations are actually not that high. Overall, the train journey from Venice to Munich leaves me with mixed memories. But unfortunately more of the bad things.
