Mestre is on the mainland while Santa Lucia is in the Venetian lagoon in the Cannaregio district. The stations are linked by Venice's Liberty Bridge. Passengers for Santa Lucia can take the Ponte dei Scalzi bridge over the Grand Canal from Santa Croce to the station concourse.
