The train from Hanover to Berlin was very busy. It was just as well that I reserved a seat. Unfortunately, there was no comfort check-in on the train. The seats were very comfortable and the train was very clean inside. However, the rubbish bins were not emptied. The staff were very friendly and the train was not delayed until Berlin. Unfortunately, the on-board bistro was not open, so I couldn't eat anything during the journey. But overall I found the journey quite good. The price in particular was acceptable.

The journey was mixed. The train was late and the staff were not particularly attentive. The toilets were available but not really clean. Wifi was hardly usable and the noise in the compartment was quite annoying. The comfort also left a lot to be desired with little space and hard seats. Compared to the car, I could probably have arrived more relaxed and faster. Still, it was okay because at least I didn't have to change trains.

I travelled to this location on business. This connection was the best option as it is cheap and environmentally friendly. My favourite part was the service on board. The worst thing I found was the space for luggage. I travelled in the morning and everything was comfortable. The price was ideal.

A pleasant ICE journey from Hanover to Berlin! The comfort was good, as you could have a good chat with others during the journey. The speed of the journey was also impressive. Despite a small delay of about 10 minutes, I was very satisfied. Therefore I give it 4/5 stars.

I regularly travel from Hanover Central Station to Berlin Central Station using a Deutsche Bahn ICE train. I find my chosen train (ICE 549) particularly practical. I don't need to change trains to Hanover and, as the journey is not very busy, I can always get a seat - even without having to book a seat reservation. The train was a few minutes late, which is fine. Unfortunately, an ICE of the oldest series is often used. This unfavourably reduces comfort a little.

I travelled by ICE from Hanover Central Station to Berlin Central Station at lunchtime with a friend because we wanted to visit the Berlin TV Tower together. The ICE connection was the best option for us to get to the capital quickly and comfortably. I had also looked at alternatives such as long-distance buses or carpooling beforehand, but they were either much slower or less reliable. Driving was also out of the question for us because we wanted to avoid the stress of city traffic and searching for a parking space. The journey on the ICE took about an hour and a half and was very pleasant overall. I particularly liked the speed and the direct connection without changing trains. The train was on time, which is of course a big plus. The seat was also comfortable and there was enough space to lean back and relax. The train was clean and both the seating areas and the toilets made a well-kept impression. I used the wifi en route, which worked well for the most part, and was able to charge my mobile phone at my seat - this is always an important comfort factor for me. I didn't use the on-board entertainment, but it was available on the portal. What I didn't like so much was that the train was quite full. Although we had a reservation, the carriage was quite full, which made for some crowding when boarding and alighting. The service on board was friendly, but I didn't have any personal contact with the train staff. There was an on-board restaurant where I grabbed a coffee - it was okay, but nothing special. I paid 29.99 euros for my ticket, which I think is absolutely fair for the route and the comfort. Overall, the price-performance ratio was very good, especially compared to other means of transport. I would definitely use the connection again if I wanted to travel to Berlin again.

A pleasant journey with a guaranteed seat (included in the ticket) and a direct connection. Unfortunately, there is no air conditioning, but that is bearable. On the other hand, the price-performance ratio is excellent. There is no other provider with which you can travel so cheaply.

I took the ICE 555. Although I didn't have high expectations, I was pleasantly surprised. The train was really clean and everything looked fresh. Comfortable seats, enough space for me and my luggage. The journey was quiet and unhurried, exactly to my liking. The wifi worked smoothly, so I was able to listen to music and check a few emails. Did you arrive on time? You can't always say that. Overall, the journey was really pleasant.

IconThe train was full
I travelled privately from Hannover Hbf to Berlin Hbf on Friday, 2 May 2025. The occasion was a visit to friends in Berlin - an opportunity to spend a relaxed weekend in the capital. The chosen connection with departure at 17:21 and arrival at 19:02 was ideal for me as it was direct and fitted in well with my daily schedule. I checked other options, but this ICE connection was by far the fastest and most comfortable, and what I liked best was that I was able to travel without stress thanks to the seat reservation, especially on Friday afternoons, when it is often crowded. It was a little less pleasant that the coach was quite busy, which made boarding a little tight. As I was travelling in the late afternoon or early evening, I still had enough time to arrive in Berlin relaxed and the journey was very comfortable overall: the seats were comfortable, the coach was clean and quiet. The toilets were also in good condition. I used the wifi, which worked well for the most part, and was able to charge my mobile phone from the socket without any problems.the train was punctual, which I found very positive - this is not always a given, especially on this route. The service was friendly and informative, with clear announcements. There was an on-board restaurant, but I didn't make use of it.As I had booked a 2nd class Super Sparpreis ticket, the price was very reasonable (€21.99)For the fast, direct connection and the comfort on offer, I found the price-performance ratio absolutely convincing.Overall, it was a pleasant and stress-free journey, perfect for a private weekend in Berlin.
Advantages
IconThere was a television
I really enjoyed the train ride because the staff were very polite. There was also a TV, which worked super well and smoothly. Moreover, this was my outward journey and hygiene was taken care of. The toilets were also cleaned every time. The wifi was very good. The ride is highly recommended and deserves 5 stars.
Advantages
IconQuick
IconComfortable
IconFast wifi
Disadvantages
IconDirty
IconUnpunctual
First of all, I have to say that the ICE did not arrive on time. The train was packed and I had to stand in the aisle most of the time, despite my seat reservation. When I finally got to my seat, it was unfortunately occupied. The passenger who was in my seat refused to vacate it. Only when I got help from a train employee was I able to get to my seat. The seat was very comfortable. Unfortunately, however, there was dirt everywhere and a lot of rubbish on the seats. The wifi was very good and fast. It was very easy to connect. I bought the ticket just under a month in advance, which is why I was then able to book with the super saver price. It is very worthwhile to travel by train. But between the holidays I will never do it again
Advantages
IconServices
Disadvantages
IconThe delay of the train
I would like to mention the only negative thing at the beginning, which was that the train was late, but it wasn't that bad, because the journey itself didn't leave any negative impressions, only positive ones. I liked that the wifi was very good. The staff were very polite and took care of the passengers. I had several power sockets at my seat. I also had a table where I could eat. I can definitely recommend the ride as the value for money was great. The driver also drove in a way that you could relax, neither too slow nor too fast.
Advantages
IconGreat service
Disadvantages
IconThe train was late
It was a very pleasant journey, but there was one small negative point, and that was that the train was late. Otherwise, I liked everything. In my opinion, the service was the best, they were very fast, I liked the food and the prices were relatively reasonable. The wifi was also good, I didn't have any signal problems at all and there was a pleasant volume on the train. I also liked that the toilets were clean and I felt comfortable when I used them. Luckily, everything went well on my journey (emergency change and such). I also had multiple access to electricity. The staff were also very funny. I also really, really liked that we were always informed when we were arriving. I can definitely recommend the trip, as there is only one small thing that was not positive. Great trip.
Advantages
IconThere was a shower
I have to mention this at the beginning: there was a shower on the train, which is unbelievable - I've never experienced anything as great as this before. Moreover, there were no negative things, I liked everything positively and therefore I would like to say in advance that I can definitely recommend the trip. My train arrived on time, I had wifi and a power socket at my seat. The value for money was great, I got much more than I expected as my ticket was also very cheap. In addition, the toilets were very clean and the train was very hygienic (disinfectant and such). What I also really liked was the staff, they were really nice and it was very quiet on the train, so the volume was very pleasant. Great ride!
Advantages
IconHygiene
As you can see from the photo, this was my return trip and it was great because there were no negative aspects. The thing I liked most was that there was a lot of attention to hygiene. The wifi was very good, I had no wifi or download problems at all. The staff were also very nice and friendly. The noise level on the train was also very pleasant. My train also arrived on time. In general, I deserved 5 out of 5 stars and definitely recommend it. My ticket was also OK.
Advantages
Iconvery clean toilets
It was a very typical (perfect) train ride. The toilets were very clean and I had good wifi. My seat was very comfortable and I had a table at my seat. My valuables were safely protected. I had access to electricity. My train arrived on time. The driver was very careful and pleasant. In general, the train was very clean and especially the toilets. The price was great. A ride that is highly recommended. There was also air conditioning and it was pleasant on the train, DS the volume was very pleasant.
Advantages
IconWC and train were clean
IconNice staff
IconOnboard bistro was delicious
IconTrain was on time
Disadvantages
IconNo wifi
Our seat had 2 power sockets and the seats were very comfortable. In addition, the train was on time and had no delays. You can't complain about the temperature in the train either and the toilets and the train were very clean. For the price, you can't travel by car, so I would say great value for money. However, I found it a shame that there was no wifi on the train.
Advantages
IconFast and good connection
Disadvantages
IconRelatively high utilisation
The train journey from Hanover Central Station to Berlin Central Station was a pleasant one. The wifi worked well and there were power sockets between the seats. The rest area was quiet and it was easy to work. The cleanliness of the toilets was fine and the train was on time in Berlin. The price-performance ratio was completely legitimate due to the super Sparpreis Young.
Advantages
IconComfortable ride
Disadvantages
IconClosed on-board restaurant
The train ride from Hanover to Berlin was a pleasant journey. For €12.90, it was a great deal. The facilities were great as I had wifi and a power socket available. Only the on-board restaurant was closed for the journey. Overall, it was great value for money. The journey is the best way to travel between the two cities, taking 1:30 hours.

IconConnecting trains
The train from Hanover to Berlin was a pleasant journey, despite the delay and lack of information about connecting trains. The staff were nice and courteous. There was also a restaurant on the train with drinks and snacks. Unfortunately, the power socket at the seat did not work. The comfort location with a power socket at the seat, a toilet and also in the restaurant on board is perfect for longer journeys. The journey is recommended.
Advantages
IconFaster connection than driving
IconClean trains and friendly staff
IconComfortable seats
Disadvantages
IconInternet not always functional
Travelling from Hanover to Berlin by ICE train is highly recommended. The journey is quicker than by car and you are right in the city centre and can get to your final destination very quickly by public transport. The trains are clean, the staff are friendly and the sockets are great for charging your mobile phone or laptop. Unfortunately, the internet is not always fully functional.
Advantages
IconFree power sockets
IconEnough space to work on the side
Iconpunctual
Iconno change
Disadvantages
IconTicket expensive
Travelling by train from Hanover to Berlin was, as always, very pleasant. The seats offer enough space to work on your laptop at the same time. I can also charge my laptop for work, as everyone is offered a free power socket. The DB service staff were also very friendly and helpful when I booked my ticket. I didn't have to change trains this time and the train arrived on time. The toilets were also very clean. A clear recommendation!
Advantages
Iconspeed
IconVery well developed route
IconFriendly staff
IconTop equipment in the train
Disadvantages
IconPunctuality
IconUnhygienic railway stations
Iconreliability
The ICE connection between Hanover and Berlin is normally a very convenient and fast connection. However, during my journey on 27 June this year, there were a few cancellations. Firstly, however, I would like to emphasise the positive aspects. Firstly, there is the outstanding hygiene and cleanliness and the top equipment on the train. The ICE is equipped with large, clean and comfortable toilets and has plenty of storage space for luggage, jackets and so on and also has an on-board bistro, which is not very cheap, but can make a big difference on longer journeys with small children, as well as very good equipment directly at the seats, such as sufficient sockets, tables that can be folded out, air conditioning, heating, LEDs for seat reservations and so on. However, the negative points of this journey, which unfortunately stood out, was the extremely inaccurate communication of the train driver about the current situation, which consisted of constantly having to make stops at smaller stations. Due to alleged disruptions, but no clear communication about the reasons for these disruptions or information about onward journeys, the onward journey from Berlin remained a question mark throughout the journey. All in all, I would still recommend the route. As it is very well developed, heavily frequented and travelled, it is a very fast route, the ticket prices are reasonable and I would personally travel it again.
Advantages
IconVery satisfied with the punctuality
Disadvantages
IconNone
The train journey was very pleasant and punctual. The prices are fair and the price-performance ratio is excellent. The cleanliness of the train is commendable, the toilets were always well maintained. The wifi worked reliably, which gave me the opportunity to work productively or relax. The seating comfort was pleasant and the seats were ergonomically designed. Overall, a smooth and comfortable travelling experience. Highly recommended!
