Amsterdam to Paris train with Eurostar

Since Eurostar is the sole operator of this extremely popular route, the prices can be high, and trains often sell out days in advance. My advice? Book as early as possible. I booked my ticket through Omio, which gave me a clear overview of prices and available options. As always, the booking process was smooth and reliable.

Schedule & frequency

Eurostar trains depart Amsterdam approximately every hour, usually at XX:10. The journey takes three and a half hours, which is impressively fast for crossing three countries. Trains run daily.

Onboard experience & services

Eurostar offers three travel classes: Standard – Comfortable and affordable, equivalent to second class. Standard Premier – More spacious seating with a light meal included. Business Premier – Luxurious service with meals, champagne, and fast-track boarding. I traveled in Business Premier, and it was fantastic despite the higher price. There’s a café mid-train, but I didn’t need it since my meal was delivered right to my seat. The steward welcomed me with a menu, and I had several options to choose from, including alcoholic drinks. I went with a delicious Belgian beer—sipping it at 300 km/h while still in Belgium was a highlight! Eurostar’s catering is great. Expect cold dishes, but they’re fresh and genuinely tasty. Scenery The Dutch countryside was my favorite: cruising through the lowlands, crossing rivers, and spotting classic windmills in the background was a real treat. I also loved gliding right through the heart of Brussels, the capital of Europe!

Alongside Paris–London, the Amsterdam–Paris route is one of Eurostar’s best. It’s fast, efficient, and scenic. Traveling through three countries in just a few hours would have been unthinkable 40 years ago. But today, thanks to high-speed rail, it’s a reality—and a truly enjoyable one at that.
