I have traveled all across France, and I genuinely think there is no better way to explore the country than by high-speed train. They are fast, reliable and comfortable, and there’s no waiting around as you would in an airport — just show up and hop on! Plus, the route from Paris to Strasbourg by train takes you through some iconic parts of France.

The Paris to Strasbourg train is mostly operated by SNCF. However, a few departures with final destinations in Germany are operated by Deutsche Bahn. The 500-kilometer route begins in the heart of Paris and winds through the rolling countryside of Champagne and Lorraine, over the Vosges Mountains, and into Strasbourg—the vibrant capital of France’s Alsace region. It’s an efficient, comfortable ride with over 20 direct departures every day. The high-speed trains will get you from station to station in as little as 1 hour and 46 minutes, which is seriously impressive.
Transportation experience
