Changing trains in Hamburg went smoothly as both trains were on time. From Hamburg to Berlin I took the ICE, which had a normal capacity utilisation. It was also clean and hygienic inside. Unfortunately, it was far too warm for me in the passenger compartment. The on-board bistro was also not open. Otherwise, everything else was fine. The ticket price in particular was favourable for this route. Overall, I can definitely recommend the journey. Especially as the changeover worked out so well.

The price was reasonable for a return journey.

erixx is a private train company in Germany offering rail services in Bremen and Lower Saxony in northern Germany. Founded in 2011, erixx runs six regional lines including the Heidebahn from Hanover to Buchholz as well as offering service to Wittingen, Bad Harzburg, Soltau and Wolfenbuttel. The trains are modern, comfortable and alcohol-free in order to provide a pleasant journey.
