Unfortunately, the journey was pretty disappointing. The train was overcrowded and I didn't have a free seat. The air conditioning worked badly and the air was stuffy. There was no on-board bistro and the toilets were filthy after a short time. Compared to the car, I would have expected more comfort.

I booked this journey in addition to an Aida cruise. The train was on time and arrived without delay. The seats and also the toilets were clean and so you could feel comfortable. The legroom was fine so far. The only big problem there was. Simply too few possibilities to stow the suitcases properly. Deutsche Bahn should improve this. I would travel by train again at any time.

I was able to travel from Kiel to Hamburg on the Eurocity without changing trains. It wasn't very full, so the train was quiet. The seats were very comfortable and there was internet on the train. The on-board restaurant was also open. The staff there were very competent. The train was clean and the toilets were hygienic. My ticket cost relatively little for this short journey. Unfortunately, the train was slightly delayed by 5 minutes. I can definitely recommend the journey.

I chose the train journey because I was hoping for less stress than travelling by car, but unfortunately that didn't work out. The comfort was disappointing, the seats were old and saggy. The noise level on the train was consistently high, which made it almost impossible to work. The toilet was very dirty. There was no onboard bistro, so I had to get something beforehand. Punctuality was also poor, ending up 40 minutes late. In terms of value for money, the journey was not justified.

This journey was pleasant from start to finish. I particularly liked the digital information system. It was always up-to-date, clearly laid out and showed not only the next stops, but also connection options and the current speed. I had the feeling that I was well informed at all times. The train was clean, quiet and modern. The air conditioning was pleasantly unobtrusive and worked smoothly. The wifi was stable enough to stream without any problems. I didn't miss anything and would use the connection again in a heartbeat.

I was able to travel to Hamburg within an hour on the regional express train. Unfortunately, the train was already very full from Kiel, so it was difficult to find a seat. The seats were very comfortable and the equipment with sockets and internet was sufficient. The cleanliness and hygiene on the train and in the toilets were fine. The staff looked friendly and helped with any questions. The ticket was also cheap and I didn't have to change trains. I finally arrived in Hamburg with a slight delay of 5 minutes.

The train journey was a complete success. The train arrived on time, the wifi was stable and it was pleasantly quiet in the compartment even at full capacity. The seats were very comfortable, with plenty of legroom, and the air conditioning ensured a pleasant indoor climate. I was particularly pleasantly surprised by the attentive staff, who regularly went through and answered questions in a friendly manner.

IconDelay
My journey from Kiel to Hamburg-Harburg started a few minutes late. I travelled the route with the ICE, which takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes and only makes one stop in Neumünster. The journey was very pleasant, there were no further delays after the initial delay. I can definitely recommend this route by train also because of the fairly short journey time.

I travelled the connection from Kiel to Hamburg. I travel a lot for work and find it very helpful that there are so many great connections. Travelling by ICE is simply much less stressful than by car. Just get in and ride along. The connection was very fast. The train was very pleasant, well-maintained and quiet. The staff were very helpful and the wifi on board was great. One toilet was a little dirty. But all in all, it was great.
Advantages

Disadvantages

I took the ICE from Kiel to Hamburg on 1 February, as the journey had already been booked in January. Conclusion: the respective staff very friendly, competent and attentive. Unfortunately delayed, replacement vehicle, when booking in January I would have liked to see an alternative train connection to get to the destination, as the actual transfer time was only 10 minutes. What struck me negatively was that passengers leave their rubbish in the seats, perhaps a sticker on the tablets would be necessary to ask passengers to leave their seats clean. The staff on board try very hard to clean and collect everything, but time is very tight. I would like to emphasise that I felt very safe and well looked after. The 1.5-hour ICE journey was not a nightmare.
Advantages
IconFast connection
Disadvantages
IconHeating failure
During our city trip in Hamburg, we decided to explore the city of Kiel as well. We used this train connection. It takes about 50 minutes to get to Kiel. The connection is very good. Unfortunately, there was no heating in the train, it was defective, so it was very cold. Otherwise, the train was very clean. The price-performance ratio is very good, so you can travel Germany cheaply.

I travelled by 2nd class ICE, the journey was very pleasant and in my opinion recommendable. The journey dragged on a bit, but it was still faster than by car and also much cheaper. The snack bar was open and I could buy a fresh coffee. This was a bit too expensive, in my opinion. The train looked a bit run down, but was far from full. There was plenty of seating available so I was very free and comfortable during the journey. I would gladly repeat the trip.

I took the train to get to Hamburg and I can say a lot of positive things about the journey. Regarding the facilities, I can say that they were quite complete, as there was a wifi connection. The volume on the train was good, however I found the seats uncomfortable. I also regret that one of the staff was very rude to me, which I don't like. Hygiene was very good and the train arrived on time. The price-performance ratio is also very reasonable. Overall, I can say that the journey was worthwhile.

The ICE was very clean and looked well maintained. The staff were very courteous and polite. The toilets were clean, but could be a bit more spacious. The wifi worked well, the seats were comfortable and the on-board restaurant was open. Unfortunately, the sockets didn't work very well and had a loose connection. Disappointingly, this is a frequent occurrence on the ICE 412 (ICE4). Unfortunately, the ICE was almost 30 minutes late today. On the other hand, communication with passengers was good. The journey from Kiel to Hamburg is possible with the ICE without changing trains.

The journey on the regional train from Kiel to Hamburg was an extremely pleasant travel experience characterised by various positive aspects. Starting with the comfortable seats, which allow for a relaxed seating position, to the impressive. The efficiency of the overall driving experience exceeded my expectations. Normally I'm more used to fully loaded trains that didn't really stick to schedules, the friendly and attentive on-board staff were instrumental in making the journey not only comfortable but also enjoyable. The staff were always ready to answer questions and help passengers with any concerns they had, which had a positive effect on the overall atmosphere. The regional connection between Kiel and Hamburg also proved to be extremely efficient. The punctual departure and arrival both contributed to my journey planning. Smoothly, this was particularly commendable as time is a crucial factor when travelling and often a problem when travelling with Deutsche Bahn, but this trip stood out as the unbeatable price paid for my ticket as I booked early enough. The combination of first class comfort, excellent service in an extremely reasonable price makes this journey an outstanding offer. Overall, travelling from Kiel to Hamburg by regional train was not only an easy way to get to my destination, but an all-round positive experience. I can highly recommend this connection to any traveller for the reasons mentioned above.
