Advantages
IconPunctual and reliable
Disadvantages
IconUnfortunately very unclean
The train journey from Karlsruhe to Stuttgart was actually very fast and on time. Accessibility at Stuttgart station was good, but there was room for improvement in Karlsruhe. The train was on time and the staff were present. The toilet and bistro were clean and always accessible. Seating comfort was adequate and there were power points. Unfortunately, one WC was slightly unhygienic and the overall impression was somewhat dull. Overall cleanliness on the train was good, but could be improved.
Advantages
IconEverything went smoothly
Disadvantages
IconNone
The train journey from Karlsruhe to Stuttgart went very well overall. The train started its journey on time, which was pleasant. The toilet was clean and very well equipped. The comfort of the train was average, the seats were comfortable and well padded, but there was some legroom. The staff were always present and helpful. The only criticism from me was the lack of power sockets, which is impractical for longer journeys. Overall, the journey was satisfactory.
Advantages
IconVery fast and reliable
IconPleasant asking price
Disadvantages
IconActually none
The train connection from Karlsruhe to Stuttgart offers an average travel experience. The staff were friendly but not always present. The toilet was clean and tidy but could be cleaned regularly. Seat comfort is acceptable, but a bit hard for longer journeys. Overall a solid option for the route, with room for improvement in the area of travel comfort.
Advantages
IconDirect connection
IconRegular departure
IconCheap ride
Disadvantages
IconFrequent delays
IconNo Deutsche Bahn journey
The journey between Stuttgart and Karlsruhe on regional services is not operated by Deutsche Bahn, but by a private company. The trains are relatively new and there is plenty of space for luggage, prams and bicycles. Often the toilets are a bit dingy, but available. Unfortunately, the trains are not prioritised by Deutsche Bahn, so there are quite often delays. Nevertheless, overall the price-performance ratio is right, as the IC of Deutsche Bahn is not much faster on the same route.
Advantages
IconFast connection
IconTrain was not so full
Disadvantages
IconJust stops in front of the station every now and then
IconUnboarding time at Stuttgart main station is too short
Wifi and power sockets are available at every seat. The seats in the IC are pleasant and offer a good level of comfort, the noise level has been bearable. Some of the toilets were defective, but the train was clean. I didn't have to change trains with this ticket, but normally it is very stressful to change trains in Stuttgart (often delays and track changes).
Advantages
IconComfort and equipment
IconNo change necessary
IconTrain was on time
Disadvantages
IconDirty on-board bistro
IconFew staff
This ICE was at normal capacity and had also had a normal volume in the passenger compartment. The train was very clean, except for the on-board bistro. Many seats and tables were dirty. There were also too few staff, so that no ticket checks were carried out and there were delays in the on-board bistro. Otherwise, everything else, such as the furnishings and seating comfort, was fine and the train had not been delayed. No change of train had been necessary.
Advantages
IconQuick
IconClean
IconComfortable
IconPrice
Disadvantages
IconDelay
I travelled by train from Karlsruhe to Stuttgart and I must say that it was a pleasant journey overall. The scenery was beautiful and the journey went smoothly for the most part. However, the train was unfortunately not quite on time. We had a delay of about 15 minutes, which was annoying for me personally, but still acceptable. However, it would have been nice if the railway had informed us about the reasons for the delay. The train ride itself was comfortable and the train was clean and well equipped. There were enough seats and I had enough space for my luggage. The train staff were friendly and helpful, which I appreciated. So overall the journey was good, although the train was not quite on time. I think I would use the train again on this route as I was satisfied with the overall quality of service.
Advantages
IconFast and relatively cheap
Disadvantages
IconNothing negative
The route from Karlsruhe Hbf to Stuttgart Hbf only takes less than an hour, even with the IC. This means that the train is faster than the car on the A8 motorway on this route due to the numerous traffic jams around Pforzheim. This makes the train route a good alternative to travelling by bus. Although Deutsche Bahn's IC trains are always relatively old and the seats are often saggy, this can be overlooked on a short journey.
Advantages
IconReliable and punctual
Disadvantages
IconSomewhat sticky base
The train departed almost on time and reached its destination almost as planned. However, there was a slight delay of around 15 minutes en route. The cleanliness of the train was impressive. The carriages were spotless and well maintained, though what I did notice was that the floor was a little sticky, otherwise everything was great. There were plenty of power sockets to charge electronic devices, which is especially helpful on longer journeys. The toilets were fine, but not particularly well maintained. It would be desirable if they were cleaned more often during the journey. Otherwise, I really liked this train connection.
Advantages
IconThe train arrived on time
IconThere is a wide range of journeys on this route
Disadvantages
IconIf a train is cancelled, the trains are extremely overcrowded
Unfortunately, other trains on this connection were cancelled, so the train was extremely overcrowded. All the seats were occupied. The price-performance ratio is generally good. Sockets, seats, catering etc. could not be assessed due to the overcrowding.
Advantages
IconPunctual
IconPlenty of space
Disadvantages
IconOdour
The train journey at 12:32 was pleasantly full, unfortunately it just stank of sweat. I still used the power sockets. The toilets were clean and accessible. There was no need to change trains. The journey took 56 minutes, the train departed on time and we arrived on time.
