Rome to Verona train with Frecciarossa

We travelled from Rome to Florence on regional trains and the Frecciargento. We did this because we didn't need any additional seat reservations for the regional trains in addition to our Interrail tickets. These are charged for each long-distance train used. This meant we had to change trains several times and accept a longer journey time. However, we did make a longer stopover in Florence, a city well worth seeing! For our first leg from Roma Tuscolana to Firenze Rovezzano, we used RE 20663, RV 4100 and RE 18841, travelling for four hours and twenty minutes and the trains were on time. On the second leg from Firenze Rovezzano to Verona Porta Nuova, we used RE 18755, RE 18952 and FA 8509, which took us two hours and forty minutes, again on time. Travelling comfort on the regional trains was not so good, there was usually no air conditioning, so it was warm and noisy. There was also a lack of wifi and sufficient power sockets. On the Frecciargento, on the other hand, it was great, plenty of space, coffee and snacks as well as wifi and power sockets! The seats were also much more comfortable and the toilets were much cleaner. To summarise, we would recommend investing in reservations for the long-distance trains.

I travelled to Verona on the so-called Trenitalia FR 8502. As the train connection from Rome is really very well organised, it was very easy to find my train despite being in a different and still foreign country. I immediately had a great impression as the train was very clean and the service greeted me nicely. The journey took about 3.5 hours and we left and arrived on time.

However, we arrived in Verona pretty much on time. I didn't have to change trains and the conductor was very friendly.

But the scenery was very beautiful and there were power sockets available. The train was very clean and it didn't stink. I was also able to use the toilet. I didn't have to change trains. The journey began with a negative experience, as the train arrived a little late. However, the frustration disappeared when I saw how much attention was paid to cleanliness on the train. Even in the toilets, I didn't notice any disgusting residue. The staff were very friendly and always had an open ear for questions. To summarise, I can only recommend the trip.

Overall, the journey was quite pleasant, but it was very hot that day and the train was unfortunately not air-conditioned, which was not exactly pleasant. Otherwise, the rest of the journey went well, it was on time, the staff were friendly and the train was very clean. I also thought it was very cool that there was free wifi on board that you could use and sockets where you could charge your devices

I was definitely pleased because the train was on time. I also think I can remember hygienic sanitary facilities. The price of the ticket was definitely fair. It was very relaxed on the train and I would recommend the journey without hesitation. It was also very clean.

The cage took about 3 hours and the whole journey I had no problems with the seats. The conductor was very friendly to me. I didn't have to change trains and stayed on the train. I travelled on the Frecciarossa FR 8509 from Rome to Verona on time in just four hours. I found the journey in 1st class very pleasant: there was free espresso, juice and water as well as a choice between savoury and sweet snacks, and the train staff were very courteous. I sat in an electrically adjustable leather seat, which I found very comfortable. Thanks to the power socket, table and wifi, I was able to watch films during the journey. I also liked the good air conditioning and the cleanliness. For Interrail travellers like me, it is important to know that a seat reservation with a surcharge must be purchased in advance. This is charged per train, so it was also important for me to take a direct train.
