My train ticket from Frankfurt Airport to Berlin was really cool! The staff were really friendly and the train was clean and tidy. The price was really fair and didn't put too much strain on my wallet. But, here comes the "but", the internet on the train was unfortunately pretty weak. That was a bit annoying, especially if you want to work or be online while travelling. Still, if you like good service, cleanliness and a cheap price and can put up with the weak internet, this train ticket is a good choice. I would use it again.
Advantages

Disadvantages
IconNothing negative
The train journey on the Deutsche Bahn ICE from Frankfurt Airport to Berlin takes 4 hours and 30 minutes. As with many of the ICE trains, the journey is very pleasant and the wifi works. You can work well and in peace on this route. If you book this route early, the price is unbeatably cheap, so the question of travelling by bus does not arise at all. As the trains run frequently, an ICE cancellation is not quite so tragic.

The train journey from Frankfurt am Main Hauptbahnhof to Berlin. Hauptbahnhof went smoothly and without any problems. I had a voucher, so the price was very good for this journey. I think the connection from Frankfurt to Berlin is great, as it is relatively short and you can travel through without changing trains. As in every ICE, there was an on-board bistro, wifi and also power sockets so that I could work there. The staff and cleanliness were okay.

Exploring Berlin's Historical Landmarks

The Brandenburg Gate, an iconic symbol of Berlin, was completed in 1791 and originally served as a neoclassical triumphal arch to commemorate peace. Its significance grew during the Cold War when it became a powerful emblem of division between East and West Germany; today, it stands as a testament to unity and freedom after the fall of the Berlin Wall. Unique features include its stunning Quadriga sculpture atop the gate, which depicts Victoria driving a chariot pulled by four horses—a striking reminder of both historical conflict and reconciliation.

The Berlin Wall Memorial is not just a remnant of history but also serves as an educational site that tells the story of one family's struggle against oppression while highlighting broader themes related to human rights. Established in 1998 on Bernauer Strasse where many attempted escapes occurred, this memorial offers visitors poignant insights into life before reunification through preserved sections of the wall alongside informative exhibits. One unique feature here is "the Window," allowing you to peer into what once divided families—an emotional experience that connects past struggles with present freedoms.

The Reichstag Building has been at the heart of German politics since its completion in 1894; however, it gained international attention following its dramatic burning in 1933 which marked Hitler's rise to power. Today’s significance lies not only in housing Germany's parliament but also serving as a symbol for democracy due to extensive renovations including Norman Foster’s glass dome that invites public access for panoramic views over Berlin. A standout feature is this very dome itself—it represents transparency within government while offering visitors an inspiring journey upward toward enlightenment amidst rich historical context below.

However, cash is still widely accepted and sometimes preferred in smaller shops, markets, and rural areas. Carrying some cash is recommended for flexibility.
In Berlin, travelers should be cautious of pickpocketing, especially in crowded areas like public transport, Alexanderplatz, and popular tourist sites. Fake charity collectors and street vendors selling counterfeit goods are common scams. It's also advisable to avoid unlicensed taxi services and be wary of distraction techniques used by scammers to steal belongings. Staying alert in nightlife districts can help prevent theft and other safety issues.
Pack lightweight, versatile clothing suitable for the destination's climate, and use secure, lockable luggage to protect belongings. Keep essential items like travel documents, medication, and valuables in a carry-on bag for easy access. Use packing organizers or cubes to maximize space and maintain order.
