České dráhy (Czech Railways) is the national train operator in the Czech Republic and one of Central Europe's largest and oldest rail companies. Founded in 1993, following the split of Czechoslovakia, it builds on a heritage that dates back to 1827. New Direct Train Connection to Copenhagen

Starting in May 2026, České dráhy will launch a new direct train service from Prague to Copenhagen in cooperation with Deutsche Bahn and the Danish national rail operator DSB. The modern ComfortJet trains will run year-round via Berlin and Hamburg, offering up to two daily departures. During the summer season, a third daily service will be added to meet increased demand. The journey from Prague to the Danish capital will take approximately 11 hours.

• Modern train innovations: ČD’s newest high-speed fleet, ComfortJet, built by Siemens and Škoda, began operations in 2024. With a top speed of 230 km/h, these trains will replace older carriages on major intercity routes, offering better accessibility, increased capacity and a smoother ride.
