New Direct Train Connection to Copenhagen

Starting in May 2026, České dráhy will launch a new direct train service from Prague to Copenhagen in cooperation with Deutsche Bahn and the Danish national rail operator DSB. The modern ComfortJet trains will run year-round via Berlin and Hamburg, offering up to two daily departures. During the summer season, a third daily service will be added to meet increased demand. The journey from Prague to the Danish capital will take approximately 11 hours.

  • Train types and seating classes: České dráhy operates local, regional, and long-distance trains, including InterCity (IC), EuroCity (EC) and high-speed Railjet services. Second Class is available on all trains, with First Class offered on most long-distance routes and select regional services.
  • On-board comfort: Second Class coaches feature comfortable 2+2 seating, free Wi-Fi, electrical sockets, air conditioning and spaces for bicycles. First Class offers upgraded 2+1 seating, more legroom and a quieter atmosphere. At major stations like Prague and Brno, First Class ticket holders can also access ČD Lounge waiting areas.
  • Premium experiences: Onboard international Railjet and Pendolino services, First Class passengers benefit from complimentary refreshments, bottled water, daily newspapers and at-seat service from trained staff. These trains also include quiet cars and family-friendly compartments
  • Modern train innovations: ČD’s newest high-speed fleet, ComfortJet, built by Siemens and Škoda, began operations in 2024. With a top speed of 230 km/h, these trains will replace older carriages on major intercity routes, offering better accessibility, increased capacity and a smoother ride.
