Below are the four ticket classes offered for RegioJet Trains. If you’d like information about RegioJet bus ticket classes instead, please see our dedicated RegioJet Bus page.

RegioJet Trains Offer Four Types of Ticket

Low-Cost Train Ticket

This budget-friendly option will give you the reliability and basic comfort of a RegioJet train, without breaking the bank. If your top priority is a cheap train ticket above all else, this option is for you.

  • Free bottled water
  • Free access to the Entertainment Portal (on your own device)

Note About Refreshments in Low-Cost:

In most cases, passengers with a Low-Cost Ticket cannot order drinks or snacks. If you want to be sure to have the full RegioJet train experience, consider booking a Business or Relax ticket. In those cars, there is an attendant on board, and he/she will be happy to sell you food and drink items.

Travel While You Sleep: RegioJet Night Trains

Sleeper cars on night trains are an increasingly popular travel option since they offer a sustainable and convenient alternative to flying. RegioJet currently has sleeper cars on two routes (in both directions):

  • Prague – Ostrava – Žilina – Košice
  • Prague – Přemyšl

There are three types of sleeper car reservations on RegioJet trains:

  • Berth (spacious sleeper car for 3 or 4 people, mixed gender)
  • Couchette (sleeper car for 6 people, mixed gender)
  • Private Compartment

Below you will find detailed information about the different types of reservations and what amenities they include.

Sleeper Car Types | RegioJet Tickets

Couchette

This is a practical, low-cost option for those looking for the sleeper train experience without breaking the bank. A couchette car can sleep six passengers, with three beds stacked vertically on each side of the car. There are no permanent seats in a couchette, but two of the lower beds can be tucked up to reveal a daytime banquette, where you can sit, eat, or chat.

Couchette cars include the following amenities:

  • Newspapers
  • Free bottle of water
  • Wi-Fi
  • Bedding (sheet, light comforter & pillow provided)
  • Free Continental Breakfast (croissant, filter coffee, jam and butter)
  • Power outlet
  • Wake Up service
  • Access to Entertainment Portal (on your own device) with movies, music, and more.

Note: Unoccupied beds in your couchette will be filled by other passengers of either gender. If you do not want to share a sleeper car with people you don’t know, consider booking a private compartment for yourself (or your group).

Berth

This is the most spacious sleeper car option. A berth has 3 to 4 beds and banquette seating on one side, providing an extra boost of flexibility and comfort.

Here are the max berth capacities for the different RegioJet train routes:

  • Prague – Košice: max. 3 passengers
  • Prague – Přemyšl: max. 4 passengers

Note: Unoccupied beds in your berth will be filled by other passengers of either gender. If you do not want to share a sleeper car with strangers, consider booking a private compartment for yourself (or your group).

Berths include the following amenities:

  • Newspapers
  • Free bottle of water
  • Wi-Fi
  • Bedding (sheet, light comforter & pillow provided)
  • Free Continental Breakfast (croissant, filter coffee, jam and butter)
  • Power outlet
  • Wake Up service
  • Access to Entertainment Portal (on your own device) with movies, music, and more.

Private Compartment

When you book a private compartment you are reserving an entire berth for yourself and/or your group.

You can book a private compartment for more than one person, but the max capacity depends on the route:

  • Prague – Košice: Max. 3 passengers in a private compartment
  • Prague – Přemyšl: Max. 4 passengers in a private compartment

If you book the compartment for less than the berth’s max capacity, the unoccupied beds will be left unfilled.

A private compartment contains the following amenities:

  • Newspapers
  • Free bottle of water
  • Wi-Fi
  • Bedding (sheet, light comforter & pillow provided)
  • Free Continental Breakfast (croissant, filter coffee, jam and butter)
  • Power outlet
  • Wake Up service
  • Access to Entertainment Portal (on your own device) with movies, music, and more.

Tip for Groups: Passengers on the same booking will be placed in the same sleeper car whenever possible, but it is not guaranteed. Depending on space and availability, your group may split into separate cars.

Tip for female travelers: If you don’t feel comfortable sharing a mixed-gender sleeper car, we suggest booking a private compartment.

RegioJet Train FAQs

What Is the Best Way to Buy RegioJet Train Tickets?

To ensure a seat for your chosen journey, it’s best to buy RegioJet tickets in advance. You can book RegioJet tickets with Omio, via our website or our app.

Is There Assistance for People With Disabilities? Are Service Animals Allowed On Board?

RegioJet train staff are available to provide assistance to passengers with reduced mobility. Passengers traveling with a Disabled Persons Tarif can use the RegioJet mobile platform to facilitate boarding and exiting the train. RegioJet will transport folded wheelchairs free of charge.

Guide and assistance dogs (properly labeled and carrying a card) are allowed on RegioJet trains, but must be accompanied by a person with an ZTP/P card (a Czech-issued disability card) or by the dog’s trainer. The accompanying person must ensure the animal does not make a mess, damage the train car, or put other passengers in danger.

Note: If you are traveling on a RegioJet bus, please see the FAQs on our dedicated bus page for more information, as assistance options on RegioJet buses are not the same.

What Is RegioJet’s Baggage Policy?

On RegioJet trains, there are no specific restrictions to the weight or size of your luggage, as long as you can board with and stow your bags quickly and safely. You must also ensure that your luggage does not affect the safe operation of the train, does not bother other passengers, and does not contain any prohibited or dangerous items.

If your luggage does not fit under or above your seat the train staff will be happy to place your luggage somewhere where it is not in the way.

Do I Have to Pay a Luggage Fee on RegioJet Trains?

Nope! The price of luggage is included in your RegioJet train ticket. Traveling by RegioJet Bus? Please see the FAQs on our dedicated bus page for information about luggage fees on buses.

Can I Bring a Stroller on my RegioJet Train?

On RegioJet trains, you can transport a stroller free of charge. If your stroller cannot be folded, the staff may move it where it is out of the way. If this is the case, the stroller may be moved somewhere out of your sight. The crew can refuse the transport of a stroller due to safety or reasons or if there is not enough space.

Can I Use a Child Safety Seat on the Train?

It’s unfortunately not possible to use a child safety seat on RegioJet trains, since there are no seatbelts; without a seat belt, it is impossible to buckle the seat into place.

Can I Pay In Euros on RegioJet Trains?

On international train routes, you may pay for food and drinks in Czech crowns or Euros. On domestic train routes (within the Czech Republic), you may only pay in Czech crowns.

What Amenities Are On Board Trains?

RegioJet prides itself on its modern, comfortable carriages and its wide range of services and amenities. All RegioJet trains offer free WiFi, access to toilets, and climate control for your comfort. The Relax and Business classes offer free hot drinks and snacks for purchase. See our section on the different class types for more information.

Can I Travel with my Pet on a RegioJet Train?

Rules for traveling with animals vary depending the train type: RJ Trains (the majority of RegioJet train routes) and R Trains (the R8 Brno–Přerov–Ostrava–Bohumín route)

On RJ Trains:

  • A passenger can take small pets on board, provided special regulations do not forbid it. Animals must not bother other passengers, and must be kept in a cage or carrier with a solid bottom during the whole journey.
  • An animal cannot be transported on its own; it must be accompanied by a passenger who looks after it.
  • Animals cannot be transported in sleeper cars.
  • Animals are not allowed on journeys to Croatia, with the exception of guide and assistance dogs.

  • The transport of animals is free of charge on RJ category connections, assuming the above conditions are met.

On R Trains:

    (trains R8 )
  • For trains on the Brno–Přerov–Ostrava–Bohumín route, passengers can take small pets, provided they are kept in a lockable cage or carrier with a watertight bottom and remain there for the entirety of the journey. Animals transported this way travel free of charge. This option is available in all class types on R-category train connections.
  • An animal cannot be transported on its own; it must be accompanied by a passenger who looks after it.
  • For a fee of CZK 30, it is possible to transport a dog outside of a cage/carrier. The dog must wear a muzzle and be on a leash throughout the journey. The dog must be accompanied by a passenger over 15 years of age, and that passenger must supervise the dog at all times. This option is only available in the Low-Cost carriage.
  • Guide and assistance dogs (clearly labeled and with a card) can be transported on board trains if they are accompanying a person with a Czech-issued ZTP or ZTP/P card. Alternatively, guide dogs may be accompanied by a certified trainer. Guide dogs can be transported for free in all class levels on R-category train connections.

Note: These rules only apply to train travel in the Czech Republic. If you are traveling internationally we highly recommend emailing [email protected] for more detailed guidance. Always research international regulations for the transport of animals before beginning your journey.

RegioJet offers several discounted fares. Please see our section on offers and discounts for detailed information.

Can I Take My Bicycle or Scooter on a RegioJet Train?

On the majority of RegioJet trains, including all RJ trains, bikes and scooters are not allowed. Small, non-electric push scooters can be brought on board as long as they can be stowed safely above your seat.

Bicycles are allowed on just two RegioJet train routes: R8 (Brno-Přerov-Ostrava-Bohumín) and R23 (Ústí nad Labem–Litoměřice-Mělník-Kolín). On these routes, passengers must pay 30 CZK to reserve a place in a dedicated bike carriage, and the bike must be placed on a rack. Space in these carriages is limited. Special restrictions apply so we recommend contacting RegioJet’s help hotline (+420 222 222 221) before transporting a bike on these routes.

Can I Cancel or Exchange My RegioJet Train Ticket?

With most RegioJet train tickets, you can cancel or change your ticket free of charge up until 15 minutes before departure. Cancellation and exchange policies vary depending on the RegioJet ticket type. We suggest checking the T&Cs of your ticket prior to purchase.

What Is the On-Time Arrival Guarantee?

If your journey is delayed by more than 30 minutes, RegioJet will refund part of your ticket. Refund amounts vary on the journey type and length of the delay.

Will There Be WiFi On Board My RegioJet Train?

Yes, all RegioJet trains now offer free, high-speed Wi-Fi

Children who are six or older can travel unaccompanied on RegioJet train routes in the Czech Republic.

On international RegioJet train routes, children between the ages of 10 and 17 can travel unaccompanied but must provide a “power of attorney” form filled in and signed either by their parent or legal guardian before boarding the bus. Unaccompanied children must also buy a full-priced adult ticket to be able to travel.

Which Documents Should I Bring On Board a RegioJet Train?

If you are traveling internationally on a RegioJet train, please bring your passport plus any visa documents you may require. European citizens traveling within the Schengen Zone may simply travel with an official European ID card.

What Should I Do if I Lose Something on a RegioJet Train?

If you have left your belongings on a RegioJet train you can contact RegioJet by phone at +420 222 222 221. Make sure to be as detailed as possible when you contact them and include details of what you have lost and the route you were on.
