Thanks to its central location in the heart of Germany, it is not difficult to get to Göttingen by bus: On many large north-south and east-west connections, the buses of the major providers stop in Göttingen. The buses stop there at the ZOB next to the main railway station, just a few minutes' walk from the city centre and the Georg-August-University. So it is child's play to reach Göttingen with the Buses to visit friends at the university or simply get to know the city.
At present the two big German bus companies Flixbus and Eurolines Germany regularly offer a direct bus to Göttingen.
Departures are possible from all directions, for example from Hamburg and Hanover in the north, Nuremberg and Munich in the south, Cologne in the west or Berlin and Dresden in the east. Most journeys are connected with unique changing.
Flixbus offers daily numerous direct connections to Göttingen, among them seven times daily from Hamburg and five times daily from Hanover. The route from Frankfurt is particularly busy: from here you can go directly to Göttingen eight times a day.
