Reims is home to one of the most beautiful cathedrals in France, if not Europe, with its stunning Gothic architecture. The fa├žade supports hundreds of statues including one of the city's emblems, the L'Ange au Sourire, which was carved in the 13th century. The cathedral interior combines the ancient with the modern, from the 13th century rose window to the 20th century designs of Chagall which were created for the cathedral's 800th birthday. 33 French kings have been crowned in Reims Cathedral and in the next door Palais du Tau Museum, life-sized statues of the monarchs and some of their coronation robes can be viewed.
