This is a well-known problem in rail travel and it is advisable to plan a time buffer for appointments to avoid unpleasant surprises. Nevertheless, travelling by train is still a practical option. Especially in view of the wintry conditions. Overall, travelling by train from Düsseldorf to Berlin offers a convenient way to connect the cities and the fact that you stay warm and dry is a distinct advantage.
