My train journey from Düsseldorf to Cologne was extremely pleasant. The seats were extremely comfortable, which made the journey very comfortable. The train reached its destination on time, which is always a plus point. Although there was no internet connection on the train, this was not a major problem as the relatively short distance from Düsseldorf to Cologne made up for it. The clean toilets on the train were definitely a pleasant surprise. Particularly impressive was the ticket price, which was very affordable and offered excellent value for money. All in all, my train journey from Düsseldorf to Cologne, was a positive experience all round.

I travelled by ICE from Düsseldorf back to Cologne on business. Thanks to the seat reservation, I also had a fixed assigned seat with a table. Fortunately, the train was not too full. However, a seat reservation was a good idea. There was a power socket between the seats. Luckily I had my charger with me and could charge my iPhone. The train was very quiet because it was not so crowded and it was already later in the day. The ticket inspector was not pushy and just checked the ticket. The only negative thing was that the train was already late for the short distance. Nevertheless, I would always prefer the train to the car. The journey was also pleasant in terms of price. Thanks to the new DB short-haul prices, it really is a good alternative to the car.

We had a business appointment in Cologne in October 2022 and had to travel by train from Düsseldorf to the neighbouring city. For this, we used the DB ICE, which brought us to Cologne really quickly and reliably in under 20 minutes. The seats in the ICE were very comfortable and we had the opportunity to answer emails and prepare for the appointment thanks to the good internet, the folding tables and the generous space. The staff was very nice and helpful in this short time and even helped us where to change trains in Cologne to get to Friesenplatz. The train was very modern and clean and arrived in Cologne on time. All in all, a very pleasant and quick trip that I can recommend to anyone!
Advantages

Disadvantages
IconNarrow
In my opinion, the only disadvantage of this connection was that it was a bit cramped due to the large number of passengers. Otherwise, I really liked the connection and the reception. The train was also very clean and hygienic. I would also like to emphasise the punctuality of the train. The price-performance ratio of the ticket was very good. I can recommend the journey.

Basically, the journey from Düsseldorf Central Station to Cologne was pleasant, as the train left and arrived on time. I also found that the toilets were extremely clean and pleasant, unlike others. There was plenty of toilet paper and a soap dispenser. During the journey, the staff were on hand to answer any questions. The only problem was the interior of the train as the windows were slightly scratched on the inside.
