Traveling from Brussels to Antwerp by train is one of the easiest and quickest rail journeys in Belgium, as well as being one of the most famous Belgian routes. It’s short, frequent, and perfect whether you’re commuting or planning a day trip like I did.

Brussels Central is compact and easy to navigate, while Midi is busier but well connected: I recommend you choose the closest station to save time and possibly not be intimidated by the size! I, for example, left for my day trip to Antwerp from Brussels Midi.
Arriving at Antwerp Central was impressive because it’s one of the most beautiful train stations in Europe, and from there the city is easy to explore on foot. I was really pleasantly surprised by this great start to my trip!

The train was clean and comfortable, with plenty of seating. The short journey made it feel effortless just like all the trains I took in Belgium.
