I was travelling from Brussels to Rotterdam on business. The train arrived on time and the connection was fast and reliable. The journey took two hours. The train made a clean and well-maintained impression on me, the seats weren't worn or anything like that. The sanitary facilities were clean and well maintained. The train itself also smelled very pleasant. Unfortunately, I found the price too overpriced. Nevertheless, it's a recommendable and stress-free journey.

The journey from Brussels to Rotterdam took a little longer than planned. This was because the train had already left late and therefore arrived in Rotterdam 25 minutes late. However, the train itself was fine. The seats were comfortable and the equipment was adequate. The cleanliness on the train and in the toilets was acceptable. The staff was friendly and gave a lot of information about alternatives for the missed trains. The train was also normally full and the noise level on the train was pleasant. I didn't have to change trains on my journey.

Exploring Rotterdam: A Journey Through Iconic Architecture and Culinary Delights

The Erasmus Bridge, affectionately known as "The Swan," was completed in 1996 and has since become an iconic symbol of Rotterdam's modern architecture. Its striking design not only connects the northern and southern parts of the city but also represents Rotterdam’s resilience and innovative spirit following World War II destruction. As you walk across this stunning cable-stayed bridge, take a moment to appreciate its elegant silhouette against the skyline—a true testament to contemporary engineering.

Next, we arrive at Markthal, which opened its doors in 2014 as both a marketplace and residential complex that beautifully blends food culture with urban living. This architectural marvel features a massive arched ceiling adorned with vibrant murals depicting fruits, vegetables, and flowers—creating an immersive experience for visitors who come to savor local delicacies or shop for fresh produce. The unique combination of culinary delights within this bustling hub makes it not just a market but also a social gathering place where flavors from around the world converge.

Finally, let’s explore the Cube Houses (Kubuswoningen), designed by architect Piet Blom in the late 1970s; these tilted cube-shaped homes are truly one-of-a-kind! Built on stilts above street level to maximize space while maintaining green areas below them showcases innovative thinking about urban living solutions. Walking through these whimsical structures offers you insight into creative housing concepts that challenge traditional designs—making your visit here feel like stepping into an art installation rather than merely viewing residences.
