How to Get to Toulouse by Plane

Located in southern France, Toulouse is a moderately-sized city with over one million inhabitants. The city is centrally-located between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. There are between five and ten flights per day from London to Toulouse. The London airports are serviced by British Airways, EasyJet, Air France, Brussels, Vueling, Swiss, Darwin Airlines and KLM. The airports can all be access by bus, bus, tube, train or taxi. Dublin, Belfast and Edinburgh also offer flights to Toulouse and are servied by airlines including Aer Lingus, KLM, Air France, British Airways and Lufthansa.


Toulouse is siutated in southerwestern France on the banks of the River Garonne, approximately 580 km from Paris. The Toulouse Capitole sits at the heart of this bustling city and the markets in the square beside it are packed with stalls hawking all sorts of local goods and produce. Not far from the Roman Amphitheatre - which dates back to the 1st century- is the Cathedrale Saint-Etienne, a Roman Catholic cathedral that was constructed between the 12th and 16th centuries. The Théâtre du Capitole, the home of opera and ballet, the Jardin des Plantes botanical garden and the Cité de l'espace are all worth a visit.

Flights to Toulouse

If you are looking to get to Toulouse from another European destination your best choice is Toulouse Blagnac Airport. Situated roughly 7 km Northwest of the city, it can be reached by direct flights from a number of major European cities, including Dublin, London, Hamburg and Rome. One of the major airline carriers flying in to the location is easyJet, who offer a multitude of direct flights. However, it also plays host to airlines like AirFrance, Aer Lingus, British Airways and Brussel Airlines. Toulouse airport has a shuttle service that runs from 5am to just after midnight. It takes about 20 mins to get to the city center and has 4 different stops on route. One of these is a train station, where you can find rail routes to other destinations in the city. Arriving in Toulouse

The unique colour-tinge of the bricks that go into many of the buildings in Toulouse earned it the name 'La Ville Rose' (The Pink City). One of the more impressive building to visit here is the Basilique Saint-Sernin Church, a Romanesque construction that has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Fine Arts Museum, or Musee des Augustins, is an impressive building in itself and is chock full or rare and beautiful paintings, many from famous masters such as Rubens and Tournier. For those looking for something far more modern, the Cité de l'Espace is considered one of Europe's best space museums.
