However, you may need a taxi for the 3.3 miles (3.5 km) between Roma Tiburtina and the city center. Arrival Train Station: Having experienced the exciting journey that leads to the jaw-dropping ruins of historic Pompei city, you may alight at three train stations. Pompei Scavi-Villa Dei Misteri train station is the most popular destination, which is only 0.03 miles (0.05 km) from the ruins but 2.7 miles (4.4 km) to the city center. From the terminus, you can access central Pompei via a taxi. However, you may prefer walking, especially if traveling light and wish to commence your Pompei tour right at the station.
