Trains from Milan to Bellagio

You can’t get all the way from Milan to Bellagio by train only. The bad news may be that you have to transfer to another form of transportation. The good news is that, if you choose, you may take a ferry across infamous Lake Como to get there. Alternatively, you may complete the trip by way of a bus from the city of Lecco. Whichever way you choose, there are trains leaving from morning to night from Milan headed North towards the connecting cities to Bellagio.

 

Milan to Bellagio Train Time: Daily Departures

There are trains that depart Milan about one per hour from around 6 a.m. in the morning until the last train around 9 p.m.. There are only about four or five ferries from Varenna to Bellagio, with the last one leaving around 6 p.m., so you should plan to leave Milan no later than 4 p.m. to make sure you have enough time to transfer. Almost all the trains from Milan to Varenna will be direct, but a few will require a transfer at Lecco. If you want to avoid the ferry, you can schedule your journey to take the bus from Lecco. Trains from Milan to the city of Lecco start early, before 6 a.m. and run, on average, about two trains per hour until around 11 p.m. It’s a direct train ride to Lecco, where you’ll transfer and grab a bus to Bellagio. There are only a handful of buses from Lecco to Bellagio, the best time is to grab one of the three buses that leave right after lunch, or you’ll have to wait until late afternoon or evening to complete the journey.
