The connection consisted of a regional express between Chemnitz and Leipzig and an ICE between Leipzig and Berlin. In between, there is a stop of about 45 minutes. This makes the entire journey quite long, although the pure journey time actually passes quite quickly. It takes about 3.5 hours. The regional express to Leipzig is unfortunately quite uncomfortable. It is a very old and noisy train, there are no power sockets or wifi and sometimes the lights don't work properly. There is wifi and power sockets in the ICE. I have never tried the on-board bistro. You sit comfortably and can choose between a quiet area and a mobile phone area. The toilet is always clean. The stopover at Leipzig Central Station is long, but very useful in case of delays. The fare is very dependent on the time of booking. Sometimes a bargain, sometimes quite expensive. The price-performance ratio depends, of course. The connection is actually once an hour, so it's quite flexible. Overall, recommended.
