4.6Introducing the Verano Joven Program by Spain’s Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility
The Verano Joven Program was re-introduced in June by Spain’s Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility. It provides discounted travel from July 1 to September 30, 2025 and is an exciting opportunity for anyone born between January 1, 1995, and December 31, 2007, who are either Spanish or EU nationals with a legal residence in Spain, to benefit from significantly reduced travel costs this summer.
A total of €130 million will be used to finance discounts of up to 90% on single and return tickets on Spanish rail services, and the Interrail Pass for rail travel in Europe. If you’re aged 18-30, and are thinking of traveling in Spain or Europe, you can book your travel through Omio and get the travel deal of the summer!
Discounts available for Verano Joven
There’s a whole range of fantastic discounts available in the Verano Joven Program. Discounts do not apply to combined tickets or season tickets and that discounts are only available on travel between July 1 to September 30, 2025:
- 90% off medium distance trains for single and round trips
- Up to 90% off state-owned buses for single and round trips, including Movelia.
- 50% off Avant trains for single and round trips.
- 50% off high-speed AVE and other trains (up to €30 off per ticket).
- 50% off Interrail Global Pass (valid 10 days in 2 months).
How to register and get your code for the Verano Joven Program
To take part in the Verano Joven Program, you must register your DNI, NIE or passport in the form provided on Spain’s Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility website. Alternatively, if you use Cl@ve, the electronic certification system, you can register here via the their website. Both links are also available on the main registration page, where you can also find links to further information.
Once registered, anyone eligible will receive a personal and non-transferable code to be used to purchase the Interrail Pass and discounted train tickets on Omio. The code, consisting of the DNI or NIE number and a set of unique characters, will be sent to your mobile phone or email address. The code is valid for the entire period and all means of transport are included.
