The flight from Madrid to Berlin is my direct flight home. I´m from Madrid but I´m living in Berlin for 9 years and at least I take this flight 5 times per year. The flight connects the city I was born and my current home in less than 3 hours.

Route overview

The flight from Madrid to Berlin covers more than 2.300 kms in around 3 hours with the commodity and comfort of an airplane. It´s the fastest way to go from the capital of Spain to the capital of Germany, connecting the historic, modern and crowded Madrid with the vibrant, hedonistic and amazing Berlin. You will depart from Aeropuerto Adolfo Suárez Madrid Barajas and you will arrive at BER airport.

Transportation experience

I normally like to take the last flight of the day from Madrid to make the most of my visit to family and friends. Normally they are not the cheapest flights so if you want to save some money that might be a good deal to take the first flight in the morning from Madrid.

Departure station

Aeropuerto Adolfo Suárez Madrid Barajas is the arrival airport. It is a modern, spacious and big airport with 4 terminals and plenty of space, services and shops for everyone.

Arrival station

The BER Berlin Airport is the departure airport. Small and not always efficient and comfortable. It´s not the biggest airport that a capital might need but it is functional, with 2 terminals and with sufficient services.

Schedule & frequency

The flight journey from Madrid to Berlin takes around 3 hours and only 2 companies operate the connection. Iberia Express and Iberia with three flights per day every day: one early morning, one at midday and the last one around 20h. Ryanair also operates the connection from Wednesday to Sunday with one flight at midday.

Onboard experience & services

I have travelled with both companies and it is not a surprise that Iberia and Iberia Express have a more non-friction, relaxed and comfortable on-boarding, journey and arrival to Berlin. Ryanair might feel a bit stressful because of luggage restrictions but from time to time I use this company and it is completely fine as well. Both companies offer services on-board.

Ticketing advice & budget breakdown

Lately the price of this connection flight Madrid Berlin has increased a lot. If you really want to go to Berlin from Madrid check the prices at least two/three months in advance to try to get a good deal.
