Four airlines offer direct flights from London to Delhi. They are Air India, British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Jet Airways, and they all depart from Heathrow. Other services depart from Stansted, Gatwick, Luton and London City Airport. A direct flight takes approximately eight hours and twenty minutes. Other airlines fly this route, but they involve a stop over and some include connecting flights. The earliest flight departs at 6:30 a.m. and the last leaves at 10:45 p.m. There are 44 direct flights a week and prices are consistent all year round.

Taking a Flight from London

Direct flights depart from Heathrow, 22 km west of central London. The Heathrow Express and Heathrow Connect trains run to the airport from Paddington Station. Heathrow is on the Piccadilly Line of the London Underground and local bus services, and the N9 night bus, all run there. London City Airport is 11 km east of the city. From central London you can catch London Overground and Underground services that connect to the Docklands Light Railway, which serves the airport. Gatwick is 47.5 km south of London. Gatwick Express trains run regularly from London Bridge and Victoria train station. National Express have coach services to Gatwick that leave from the bus station outside Victoria. Stansted is 48 km northeast of central London. The Stansted Express train runs from London Liverpool Street to the airport's train station. National Express coaches leave from Victoria Coach Station, (a different station than the train and bus station), and Liverpool Street Station. Luton Airport is 56.5 km north of London. From St Pancras you can catch Thameslink services to Luton Airport Parkway. Green Line Coaches and EasyBus provide bus services from Victoria Coach Station and Liverpool Street.

The service operates between 4:45 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. There is a shuttle bus service every 30 minutes to Delhi. This service runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. There are three official taxi companies operating from the airport. Journeys can be pre-paid for at the taxi office, but cash and credit cards are also accepted by the driver once you reach your destination.
