How to Get to Dortmund by plane

London Luton, Heathrow and Stansted as well as Manchester and Birmingham airports offer flight services to Dortmund. Flights terminate at Dortmund International Airport, which is located roughly 6 miles from the east of the city centre and services the eastern Rhine-Ruhr area of Germany. It is possible to reach the city centre via motorway using hire car or cab service with journeys taking roughly twenty minutes. There is also a shuttle bus service that connects the airport with the city metro line as well as offering connections to Dortmund's main rail hub which is located in the city centre. About Dortmund

The city of Dortmund offers a unique visitor experience by seamlessly combining the old with the new. St. Reinold's Church, located in the old market square is one of the oldest protestant Lutheran churches in the city and despite suffering large scale damage in the Second World War, remains one of Dortmund's premier historical attractions. Positioned in the historical district of the city the church is surrounded by a number of other architecturally insightful buildings as well as a great many traditional shops, pubs and restaurants. If you are a fan of sport then be sure to visit Signal Induna Park, the home of Borussia Dortmund Football Club, one of Germany's premier sides. With a capacity of over 80,000 the stadium boasts an almost unparalleled match day atmosphere.
