Once most of the vacationers have returned to work or school at the end of August, the town enjoys a new lease of life with the Illuminations. This spectacular light show, using over a million bulbs, begins at the end of the summer season and continues into November. Visitors who haven't managed a week's summer break in Blackpool can make amends with an evening visit in the fall to witness the light show.
