Hanover to Kiel train with Deutsche Bahn (ICE)

The train route from Hanover to Kiel ... another stop on my trip to Germany. I find especially that on these train journeys you meet many new people and can build communities. On top of that, all the announcements definitely relieve your stress. In addition, you also do something good for the environment by travelling by train. Unfortunately, there are also delays and poor hygiene in the toilets.

I was travelling through to Denmark about a month ago and therefore passed through the station from Hanover to Kiel. First and foremost, I am of course very pleased with the friendly staff. Unfortunately, the train never manages to arrive on time and stick to the timetable. The hygiene on the train could definitely be improved. Overall, I find that travelling by train is very environmentally and price-friendly.

The ICE journey from Hanover to Kiel was a predominantly pleasant travelling experience, which turned out to be due to various aspects. Let's start with the comfortable seats, which made the entire somewhat longer journey an extremely relaxed travelling experience. The efficiency and speed of travelling in such an ICE also had a very positive influence on my travel experience and exceeded my expectations. The attentive, competent and extremely friendly staff on board also contributed significantly to the fact that the journey was not only pleasant, but also comfortable and relaxing for me. The staff were always willing to help passengers with any concerns they had and to answer any questions they had, and the fact that there was a good balance of staff and passengers meant that there was no disagreement. However, what made the trip stand out was the unbeatable price I got my ticket for, even though I booked the whole thing at a very late stage and would have expected a much higher price. My points of criticism on this journey were definitely the punctuality of the train, which once again arrived several minutes late and thus also arrived at its destination, and the associated reliability on this train connection, which is of course somewhat more strongly influenced by the reappearance and punctuality. Overall, however, the journey from Hanover to Kiel on the ICE was an all-round positive experience. I can definitely recommend the connection for the reasons mentioned. Nevertheless, I hope that in future Deutsche Bahn will provide reliable train arrival times and a more frequent connection between the two cities, as the train does not run very frequently or very regularly and you therefore have to rely heavily on the times that Deutsche Bahn chooses.
