I travelled with my 1st class Interrail ticket on Intercity trains 713 and 1065 from Geneva to Interlaken Ost. As both trains were on time, the tight connection in Bern worked out and I reached my destination in less than three hours. I only had to walk a bit when changing trains, as the trains are very long. Although I had plenty of space in 1st class, I could hardly adjust the seats and didn't find them as comfortable in the double-decker train as in single-decker trains. There were plenty of Swiss power sockets, but I couldn't connect to the wifi. But it was very clean and I enjoyed the marvellous views of Lake Geneva at the beginning and Lake Thun at the end.

The direct connection with the IR 2524 train from Geneva to Interlaken was fantastic! The journey took about 2 hours and 50 minutes and it was a through journey without changing trains, which was super convenient. The train departed on time and arrived in Interlaken just as punctually. The scenery that you could enjoy through the large windows was particularly impressive: Lake Geneva, the Alps and idyllic villages, everything looked beautiful. The train was comfortable, clean and well equipped, with enough space for luggage and comfortable seats. The ticket price was absolutely reasonable for the quality of service and comfort. I would recommend this connection to anyone who wants a stress-free and relaxed journey!

The train journey from Geneva to Interlaken, with train numbers IC 712, IC 1084 and RE 4218, was a nice experience in summary. The trains were modern and clean, the seats were comfortable and the free wifi worked well throughout the journey. The views of the Swiss countryside with all the mountains and lakes were magnificent, so the journey was very pleasant. However, changing trains twice in Lausanne and Bern was a little inconvenient and reduced the comfort of the journey somewhat, especially as the total journey time was almost 6 hours and 48 minutes. A more direct connection would have been preferable. Nevertheless, the service was excellent and there is no doubt that the quality of the trains makes this connection very interesting - mainly for travellers who have time and want to enjoy the scenery.

IconDelay of 10 minutes
It took me about three hours to get from Geneva to Interlaken. I didn't have to change trains here. The train departed on time, but arrived 10 minutes late. It was relatively clean and quiet on the train, as it was not very busy. Unfortunately, some of the toilets did not work. In addition, neither a power socket nor the wifi worked. The staff were very friendly and the seats were comfortable. Overall, the journey was acceptable!
Advantages
IconNo delays and no changes
IconComfortable seats and plenty of legroom
IconLow capacity utilisation
IconFriendly staff
Disadvantages
IconPoor cleanliness
The train from Geneva to Interlaken wasn't very full, so I was able to relax here. This was made possible by the comfortable seats and the ample legroom. However, the train was not very clean. The rubbish bins were not emptied, so there was a lot of rubbish on the floor. Apart from that, the train wasn't late and I didn't have to change trains. The staff here were friendly and informed us of other connections via loudspeaker.
