On a positive note, however, the connection was direct and punctual and the ticket was very cheap. Acceptable for the price if you are prepared to allow extra time.

Despite a 6-hour journey, the journey was very pleasant. There is even a train from Barcelona to Alicante where you don't have to change trains. An absolute recommendation. We travelled on the Euromed and would do so again and again.

The train arrived late, which caused further delays and increased the expense of travelling. The changeover was stressful and the journey was less enjoyable overall due to the delay. The wifi was excellent and I had an outlet but no bistro.

iryo is a new brand from railway operator ILSA operating in Spain since 2022. iryo uses Frecciarossa 1000 trains which are modern, can travel at up to 360km/h and have a minimal environmental impact. iryo’s Frecciarossa trains have different classes, all of which come with free unlimited WiFi, power sockets, toilets and an onboard entertainment portal where you can watch films and TV series.
