Southeastern is a rail franchise operated by the Go-Ahead Group through Govia, a joint venture between Go-Ahead and Keolis SA since April 2006. In November 2005 the Department for Transport awarded Govia the Integrated Kent Franchise with the services operated by South Eastern Trains transferring to Southeastern on 1 April 2006.
Southeastern operates in the South East and serves routes to South-East London, Kent and parts of East Sussex. Its main London stations are Charing Cross, Blackfriars, Cannon Street, and Victoria.
In 2009 Southeastern began running new high speed domestic services connecting St. Pancras International, Ashford and the Kent coast. The service is the fastest commuter train service in Britain. Apart from high speed trains, Southeastern operates metro and mainline trains.
Every train except the one connecting Cardiff Queen Street to Cardiff Bay has accommodations for wheelchair users, standard toilets, boarding ramps, and audible information. Arriva Trains Wales offers a Premier Service on selected trains between Holyhead and Cardiff, mentioned service includes a meal cooked by a chef on board while hot and cold snacks are available for purchase from the buffet for standard class passengers.
Southeastern offer a wide range of tickets for passengers to choose from. For passengers travelling during the weekend, an ideal ticket would be the Weekender one, which allows to travel off-peak on a Friday or Saturday and return on Saturday or Sunday. Visitors to Kent should take advantage of the Kent Rover ticket which allows three consecutive days of unlimited off-peak train travel in a selected area of Kent.
On Omio, you can book a wide range of train tickets with Southeastern.
