It's possible to travel in France directly from Paris to Lourdes by train. Flights land nearby at Pau Airport while making the journey by bus is considerably more time-consuming, involving at least one connection.
Return trips from Lourdes to Paris are also available.
It's not possible to travel directly to Lourdes from Paris by bus with the 900 kilometer journey taking anything from 15 to 30+ hours. There are four departures a day from around 8:00 a.m. until about 3:30 p.m. with changes at Nantes and Le Mans. Buses terminate at Tarbes where local trains continue the journey to Lourdes.
Direct high-speed SNCF TGV trains from Paris to Lourdes depart Paris Gare Montparnasse six times a day, arriving approximately 6 hours later. Departures start just before 6:30 a.m. and continue until around 2:30 p.m. Sunday services are slightly reduced. Gare Montparnasse is in the 14th and 15th arrondissements of the Paris suburbs and linked to the city center by local buses and Metro. Lourdes Station is within easy walking distance of the Sanctuaries and the town. Both stations have taxis available.
Air France in conjunction with HOP have ten non-stop flights a day from either Paris Charles de Gaulle or Orly airports to Pau. Pau is around 40 minutes by car rental, taxi or local train to Lourdes. Flights from Paris to Lourdes commence at just before 8:00 and continue until around 8:00 p.m. and have a journey time of approximately 3.5 hours. Both Orly and Charles de Gaulle airports have fast bus and train links with the center of Paris as well as car rentals and taxis.
