There are numerous public transportation options for travel between Paris and Zurich. These include bus, train and air travel. You may also opt for drive-share options and rental car travel. In general, bus travel is the most affordable option. Train and air travel both take about 4 hours, but train travel is more affordable.
Return trips from Zurich to Paris are also available.
Flixbus, Megabus, Postbus and Eurolines provide buses from Paris to Zurich. Flixbus and Eurolines provide direct bus journeys which depart at night from Paris Porte Maillot and arrive at Zurich Bus-Parkplatz Sihlquai 10:00m later. The bus departs at 23:30 p.m. and arrives at 9:30 a.m. Eurolines night buses depart at 22:00 p.m. and arrive at 9:30 a.m. - a journey of 11:30m. Flixbus also provides 1-stop journeys which depart from Paris, stop at Port Maillot and arrive at Zurich Bus-Parkplatz Sihlquai (around 21 hours).
SNCF offers the TVG Lyria trains from Paris to Zurich. Trains depart from the Paris Gare du Nord train station and travel to Zurich Main station. Other trains depart from Paris Est, Paris Montparnasse station and Paris Charles de Gaulle train station. The train journey lasts about 4 hours.
Swiss Air and Air France provide commuters with direct flights from Paris to Zurich. Flights depart from Charles de Gaulle airport and arrive at Zurich airport about 4 hours later. There are numerous flights during the morning, afternoon and evening. There are Air Berlin flights which make 1-stop between the cities. These flights depart from Paris Orly airport and take about 7 hours. You can travel to Orly from Paris using a rental car or bus.
